that 1.0->1.5s buff on his E is HUGE. I play a lot of skarner and here's some quick mafff for u

E cd at max rank ->12

E cd with 45 % cdr 6.6

Btw fun fact, skarner ult is 2.0s of cc, not 1.75. 0.25s snare + 1.75s supression.

E cd reduced by 1.5 if landed.

So u land E goes on 6.6s cd If you stun the enemy goes on a 5.1s cd.

After 1.5s you ult them, by then its on a 3.6s cd.

Ult reduces E cd by 1.75s which puts it on a 1.85s cd.

they are cc'd for 2.0s during the ult so E is up before ult finishes.

This change was incredibly stupid and the person who did this buff knows nothing about skarner. The damage buff was nice, and needed but the cc buff is just uncalled for.

You are overreacting. His kit is uninteresting and unoriginal. There are other champs that do everything he does but better. Skarner ONLY shines if he is allowed to reach mid-late game. It is so easy to kite him around, especially in the current meta. Even if he is a little overpowered, it will go unnoticed because NO ONE PLAYS HIM and NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY HIM.

Look at the potential Nunu buffs on PBE. Why are they so insane? Because the champion is BORING and no one wants to play him.

And that gimmick with the jungle pillars? I would be happy getting rid of them for a real passive that isn't extremely situational.

I don't agree with you that the way to solve this stuff in a game so saturated with damage is to keep adding more, but I like the fact that you addressed what really matters here: these characters are really poorly designed and borderline meme tier.

The only way to see if im overreacting or not is to wait and see skarners stats over the next patch or so. Until then i have no rebuttal to that.

I don't think this statement is entirely true.

Skarner has two possible build paths, warrior and cinderhulk and both have massively different power spikes.

If you go cinderhulk you end up having a better early for a crappier mid, but if you go warrior, you get trashed early (unless the enemy is super bad and cant kill a squishy melee with no gap closers) and have a better mid game with triforce.

Saying skarner is unoriginal would be incorrect from my perspective. Skarner's R is one of a kind, and it defines the whole reason I play him personally.

Yes, he did need buffs, but he did not need more cc on his E. adding damage to his E was nice, giving him base mana so he can sustain outside of the spires was nice too. But this particular CC buff is toxic in nature to counter play involving skarner and will result in him being even more oppresive than he normally is when he DOES get strong.

Cmon , like what do people want ? put yourself in the company's place Skarner is the least played champion in this whole game he is the least banned , the least picked , the least popular , he almost doesn't exist , I started playing in April last year , and I only saw 3 times after playing 2500+ matches I saw 2 threads about buffing him few days ago I think it's ok to buff him for a while , I might agree with you , he better get a damage buff or a small rework , but a small buff wouldn't be a problem , he is pretty strong imo

+0.5s of cc might look small, but its not, its huge. I agree, skarner needed a small buff, and the buff to his E damage was good. But this cc change might break skarner.

let me tell you how champions like skarner are balanced by riot.

Skarner -> slightly weak but overall balanced

Riot -> buffs him

Skarner -> now broken

Riot -> guts skarner so that he's worse of than he was with the buffs.

End result : shittier skarner
