Disabling champs for Pro but not for normal/ranked games

What's with the current trend of disabling champions/strats in pro games but leaving open the same champs and strategies in normal ranked games? so far I've seen Jhin with Rageblade disabled, Karthus with smite disabled due to the nunu/karth strat, and now Taliyah with smite disabled despite being almost pigeonholed into jungle since her mini-rework took away most of her laning strengths, but made her very strong in the jg. Why is the popular thing to do now disable annoying/"OP" things in pro play but let us deal with it in normal games? Shouldn't the goal be to FIX something if it requires being off-limits?

Uhhh... Wasn't Karthus with smite and Taliyah with smite banned because of a gamebreaking bug that caused the game to crash completely? Or did I just read fake news?

Taliyah with smite (and I believe Karthus with smite but I could be wrong with this one) was not disabled because they were strong. They were disabled due to causing the game to crash in pro play.

They micro patched the Taliyah bug so it shouldn't be banned anymore, unless the region hasn't gotten the micro patch yet.

Long story short, Riot's not in the wrong here.

They seem to like band-aids a bit too much lately

Lowest amount of effort on Riot's part, the lazy good for nothing losers will never step up if it means actually having to work

Tournament play is done on a single patch for consistency. Talxkarth caused a tournament gamr to full on crash because of some restriction, so they pretty much all agreed not to use it as a result.

Server wise the specific interaction is unlikely to occur, and they can patch it.

The taliyah karthus was a bug which can/is possibly already fixed on live. They stay on the previous patch for longer. (im not sure how long) Jhin with guinsoos was just straight up broken so no comment there.
