new champ select fail on new champ week

old teambuilder was PERFECT for new champ release days. people who were silly enough to try to force new champ, got horrivbly long waits... but only they suffered. everyone else could jsut play normaly.

Now, though... just now, I had THREE people in my team who selected jhin as their pick.

then the lastpick guy who failed... banned jihn.

And so of course TEN PEOPLE suffered from queue dodge. AFTER everyone had picked all their champs. That guy was so toxic. After waiting 5x10 minutes of everyones time.

if poeple want to play the new champ, they should get to do so. Plus other people shouldnt have to suffer for it.

Generally the first week of release for any new champions is hell. People will ban them in draft modes (normal or ranked), in blind pick your competing to be the first auto-locker, same with bots. It is always best to wait (play some of your favorite champs! Jhin isn't going anywhere) for the hype to die down. If you just want to try him out, see what he's all about, do a 1v1 custom with a bot or a friend (I did this with Gnar/Kalista where me and my friend both picked him/her). Hell play some ARAM's you may just get lucky.

But complaining about not being able to play a newly released champ (a common trend during champion release weeks) is a waste of time. It's also not the fault of the queue, this has happened long before team builder was even a thing. And while I agree that team-builder was perfect for newly released champions it was also not the only option available to those who wanted to try them.

Sorry but no. Queue dodge has always been the fault of the players not the system. It is a choice to close the league client (except of course when the client experiences failure). The champion select even specifically tells you that not locking in will get you kicked (another AFK check). Players banning champions is again not the fault of the system. They just gave it to more than one person. People are always going to ban what they want and those that are in disagreement with them will either voice it or leave. Toxic people are going to be toxic regardless of queue type.

Why are any of you playing Draft if you want to play a new champion? You're at minimum twice as likely to get to play them in Blind, more than that if you factor in bans.

i DONT want to play the new champion But people who did want to, were screwing up my queues
