I think making a permanent and fast paced game mode was one of Riot's best decisions so far

Not everything has to be competitive and perfectly balanced all the time, and even though I have more than 4k normal games played I still think ranked means a lot, it just shouldn't revolve around our lives as if it's the sun and we depend on it to exist. just saying

Now if only Summoner's Rift would go back to being about long games...

hopefullly this'll make them fix SR game length, but knowing rito, they'll nerf shen and say that they're "looking into it."

Now if only they'd remove the ff feature...

Yeah, hopefully, Nexus Blitz would placate the players with limited time to play (as well as those with a preference towards fast paced games) while giving a separate space for players who prefer longer games.

Dominion.

Implementing an insanely fast gamemode to make the other fast gamemode look slow in comparison....

But in all seriousness I really like how little downtime there is in this mode. At least you don't have to wait several minutes until the game even starts.

Would of preferred Dominion over this to be honest.

Nexus Blitz is really fun and can be enjoyable but if the other team snowballs at all (even if only a AurelionSol is snowballing) they'll mostly automatically win every event. Maybe excluding loot Teemo since it can be smited. Nexus Blitz is just SR but smaller and changing the pace to ARAM's (fast and more combat focused). Dominion did start slow (I think you had to wait till 1:30 to actually start playing the game?) but it looked like a lot of fun.

That was what 3's was when it was released. I remember playing it and being blown away at how fast things went. Team fights before 5 minutes? Unheard of (esp when SR games went for ~1h). I really like the fast pace, the events, and the new map. It really keeps things fresh.

I was thinking about this too! I know I heard riot mention a while ago that they were very hesitant to increase the length of summoners rift matches because one of their biggest markets was game cafes over in Asia. (I think it was Korea but I don't want to claim that without knowing.) People who play in those cafes highly prefer shorter games because they pay for the time they spend playing. By making a permanent gamemode entirely focused around fast, explosive matches and having short bursts of excitement; they can keep that game cafe audience and still have room to increase the length of summoners rift matches!

I think the way they did this was very smart. I just hope they follow through.
