Why not just add a 50/50 chance of each role in queue?
Title.
I mean everyone - including myself - complains about not being able to play support without always getting support. Why is that? Because, nobody plays support. Now firstly its just the most unpopular role, but then there's the part that literally nobody wants to only play support so that decreases the popularity even more and makes queue times so much longer. Not even just 20% longer like each other role, just... longer. Its honestly probably the main reason as of right now. Obviously if it was fixed another role would be the problem for queue times but it seems like every other role can be found before support as of right now, so it should be significantly shortened.
So why not just add a 50/50 chance of each role instead of whichever the first team found needs? I mean it could just be totally random. Flip a virtual coin, spin an imaginary wheel, and the fill role could do the same.
So there's the problem of a role + fill, so just add a 50/50 coin flip of that role or fill, and then if you get fill then the imaginary wheel.
I don't know, maybe this would increase queue times because now we aren't just getting the first team to need one of our two roles, but isn't that what the PBE is for? Testing it out and seeing if it would actually work or not? I just find it incredibly stupid that I can't fill or pick secondary support or fill without every time getting support. I mean sure, if this change happened it would be your two roles instead of primary and secondary, and 'Random/?' instead of 'Fill' but honestly its not even fill, its just a bigger button for support. It was since Dynamic Queue came out and its only gotten worse because people stopped even trying.
I personally think it would make it a lot easier to play support and lower queue times, because there would be so many more people to take secondary support than now and that whole problem would be filled out.
So what about the question of always getting two roles? Okay, so it might inconvenience those die-hard mains that only ever play one champion, but if you don't play it in your second role what do you even do whenever you get it? Just dodge? I mean, you've got to already know someone to play there already, right?
