KDA is a useless measure of everything. Especially usefulness to one's team.

The KDA, while helpful in indicating a player's activity in a game, does not include completing objectives or warding. (I've seen more than a few players who brag at the end about their kill rate - and their hunting for kills was the reason for the team loss.)

I think that in the face of abstract value of the KDA I think the 6/3/2 is better but at the same time, 12/14/4 may have gone for objectives or was a fed carry winning team fights and such.

To be honest getting so many kills and dying a lot means that not only is the gold distribution of your team is all on you but you are giving the enemy team even more gold with shut downs and simply the fact that you're now worth the most gold. But also that if you ended up getting picked off in a team fight, your ally team would be much weaker than your opposition which could cost you dearly.

But with those deaths if you were able to A) take an objective B) Win a team fight

Then it was good.

Optimally you want high KP% with low deaths. Between the two, I'd take the guy with low deaths and let someone who doesn't die as much get the kills. If I'm not at least 40% KP I'm kind of wondering WTF I was doing in that game though. If you're trying to carry 20% KP is unacceptable.
