Give me one scenario where you would pick Leona over Alistar. Give me scenarios where Leona outperforms Alistar.

Durability is up for longer overall on Leona, if you fuck up your combo it's less disastrous, better lockdown...

Err, her R engage is better (longer range and bigger AOE) than Alistars W-Q engage...

She also has a longer period of lock-down.

Alistar in contrast is more reliable (W-Q is targeted) and is tankier with his ultimate.

I think Leona does a bit more damage, but that doesn't really matter much for either of them.

That too . She provide bonus damage to already strong meta carry where Alistar don't.

She has a WAY more reliable engage with a good cool down, she can lock a single target down for longer periods of time (in terms of total CC time compared to Alistar) which is very important for locking down an ADC, in total her damage ends up being higher than Alistar because of her Sunlight passive and it's resets.

lmfao? Zenith Blade has further range, and can pass through targets to go after back line targets..... It's especially useful vs Healers and Zyra..... because she can bypass and put up higher defensive stats during the primary durations of their skills.

Leona also is an ace at killing Kassadin, Yasuo, Leblanc...... annoying dashers who can normally get away. Alistar can't do that.

Leona's ult is also far better..... given its massive range, low cooldown, and easy to hit pinpoint accuracy.

not to mention, any champions hit by Leo E are rooted for .5s doesn't sound like much, but that shit'll cancel Yi Qs, Kass Rs or Lucian Es.

It doesn't actually cancel Yi's Q..... but it can bring her to him to stun when he lands. CC attached to aoes hit through Yi's Q and will resume effect after it ends. Secondary effects like the pull will also execute. But the Q will execute.

Kass is the same principal...... He will still ult. But Leona if she hits before the R is over, she will actually land as his new location, not his ult. So she can stalk him and cc him down mid R chain long enough to follow through with.

Lucian is kind of iffy...... if he doesn't have his dash up and he's close enough to get hit by E, he's doing something wrong.

You don't get what I'm saying.

All champions hit by Zenith Blade are rooted for a split-second, meaning that you can't cast movement abilities during said split-second. Sort of like trying to cast during Kass' Q silence - nothing happens, except it's so short that it's negligible. just a sort of animation canceler.

Zenith Blade actually locks down the target without the risk of the combo being screwed up because you didn't press your knock up button in time.

I want to play Leona and not Alistar, so I pick Leona and not Alistar.

Give me scenarios where Leona outperforms Alistar.

Bikini contests. Sun praising \o/ Milking those.

On a more serious touch, Leona has a lot more presence in teamfights than Alistar. Her Q comes off twice as often, her passive is massively spread throughout the fight and her ult allows another stun far away from her making her able to peel at 2 places at the same time, which is a powerful utility Alistar cannot pull off.

Alistar will make one-shot actions more decisive, as he can deal a fair amount of damages in a burst but will be found exhausted after the first spell rotation. Leona will shine in longer fights, where she can use her cc to control the pace.

Before the damaging runes burst nerf, she was able to 90% any champion solo at lvl3 with an alternative offensive build (dominate/sorcery). You won't get that back, it was braindead and unsolicited. Position better, find the good moment and stop willing for every champion to be relevant all the time. You like Leona? Play Leona... See, I like AP Shaco supp, and I play him, and it's really enjoyable, and I don't care if it's not the best pick ever; actually, I'm slowly reaching the same rank that I was getting while playing meta champions, so... Sometimes, being good at something will far exceed the results of using the best tools.

Look Leona mana cost next to Alistar. Leona can use her combo way more often than Alistar and require more skill than him. You can check bush and surprise engage with Leona where you can't with Alistar. She is also more teamfight oriented than Alistar. She can clear wards freshly placed thanks to Q reset. Alistar need to be in your face to combo and its easy to miss WQ combo. Stop creating a whine post every 2 minute already.

Alistar can apply a stack of kai sa’s passive with three moves. Leo can too but she has to use ult to match his three abilities. Alistar is pretty dang durable and can sit in a fight longer because of his ult. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. So I think it depends on the matchup.

Alistar can't survive near as long as Leona lol. But maybe that's because I always destroy Alistar with an early Void staff....

It’s a toss up really. Leo is easier to maximize her abilities together and her w provides the constant stat buffs which could help her survivability. But Alistar provides the displacement from his abilities too. I honestly think it’s a preference thing.

I generally am Zyra right now...... but I have been and still am Leona occasionally.

Leona's skills lend heavily to getting Ravenous Hunter and Taste of Blood on top of Aftershock, which once fed she generally can outank any duel.... I can outduel a MF with Leona. Or almost any adc. The real problem with either of them is...... whose your adc you're paired with? Do you know them? Or, are they just going to do nothing so you can do nothing?

That's why i moved away from doing the whole support selection. Enchanters are at the mercy of their adcs for the most part. Tanks are at the mercy of their adcs. Zyra....... can work though all the BS.
