Remove Veigar's stacks on death

Bultz··8 votes·2,256 views

Him getting permanent stacks to every skill from just trapping people with his stun is bad enough. Him being able to 1 hit is such a cancerous idea. Even nasus only gets stacks on his q, Veigar gets stacks on everything. SO much fuckign cancer.

Easy way to fix Veigar; His q can now only hit one target, its range is reduced to 600 but it becomes targeted rather than a skillshot. Increase the scaling by 20%, to reward Veigars for taking bigger risks in positioning. Slightly reduce the range on E and increase the cooldown but as compensation shorten the delay time. His ult is pretty boring, thematically. Instead of scaling off missing health, what about something like scaling off enemy AP? It would give him a nice niche and gameplay identity as an anti-mage. Increase the scaling a bit though to make it so he's not totally reliant on the enemy team. Say, 120% of his own AP plus 60% of the enemy's? His passive will have to be tuned down in this case, since his scalings are being upped. How about keep the portion where he gets AP for kills on his Q, and for takedowns, but I think he can live without stacking off his other abilities.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind that as long as his ap stacks aren't 1 hitting me. I have seen good veigar's just get stacks and build tanky to 1 hit entire teams with the ability to survive fights. No champion should get free kills, give him more outplay, go ahead, don't give him some broken kite and say it's needed because he isn't mobile or something like that.

facepalm you realize that's what he used to do, right? and here's how you counter him BUY MR

But then he will have to spam his Q harder to make up for the lost potential, so he will have severe mana problems. Lets move his current passive to his Q since it only works for that now and give him mana regen per missing mana on his passive.

I played veigar during a random champion event game and all i had to do was stack, late game i was a monster, easiest game ever for me. I'm fine with giving 1 skill stacks, giving them all stacks is a cancer though. Imagine Nasus launching e with stacks and watch people be 1 hit.

Zezockary1 votes

Nasus and Veigar are two totally different characters. Nasus is naturally made to build tank and he has built in sustain. Veigar has a hardish to land aoe stun and just delayed damage from there. Also, I don't think it would be so bad if the first hit of his E gave stacks for champ hit.

Yeah because the fact that Veigar is a glass cannon and can get blown up in a matter of seconds means nothing. No, he has always had that passive, and the changes they made to him are the only thing that makes him an OK mid pick.

lolololo He is def not a class canon, any idiot gets stacks, then build tanky on him to be able to 1 hit and survive fights.

GankedByWindows4 votes

If he got that many stacks and the game has gone on that long, you deserve to lose. Veigar is criminally weak early game to compensate for his monstrous late game.

I looked at your match history, you are silver 4, yasou main and lost the game against a glass canon Veigar. Why should any Veigar build tanky against you? So you take 4 and not 2 second to kill him? (serious question). He can literally be outplayed by bronze player by not running in the stun, avoiding the meteor (which has a huge delay) and then going full in.

Your kidding right, tank veigar is super strong, he literally tanks yasuo easily and does 1300+ damage with all skills because of stacks

He can literally be outplayed by bronze player by not running in the stun, avoiding the meteor (which has a huge delay) and then going full in.

you tell yourself that until you run into one

This is a lie - Veigar did not "always have that passive" -- he used to have a passive much like item 3028 - where he constantly regenerated % total mana.. which made him a much better mage -imo. His could sustain his mana in lane nearly infinitely if he wanted. Gaining his stacks with Q - They changed it for what ever reason, (only riot knows) - to this "touch someone gain AP" -

I agree that his new passive makes him annoying as hell - however, it would not be so bad if his AP ratios were low - but they are not - nor is he a "glass cannon" outright, you can build him that way and execute anyone with the high skill level R push.

His Q - does between 70-230 damage + 60% total AP (not just bonus) His W - 100 - 300 + 100% total AP - and gets a passive 10% reduced CD per 50 stacks His E - is about 1/3 a lane in area (have not measured exactly) R - 175-325+75% total AP - increased by targets % missing HP up to 100% at 33% or less.

In my eyes - his R should be a skill shot not a point and click, (imagine if Urgot ulti always connected - did that kind of damage - and he could just kill you if he desired - people would flip) (So for reference Urgot R is 100-350 +50% **bonus **AD only , not total) His E should be a smaller area and his ratios should be dipped to about 1/2 - or 3/4 what they are -

He would still scale well into mid/late game - he would still destroy Late late game, and he could still pretty much deal true dmg with a item 3135 later game.

but of course I am not Riot - these are just opinions

Remember tank veigar. LOL

Remove Nasus stacks on death. Remove Sion stacks on death. Remove Thresh stacks on death. Remove kindred stacks on death. If they did it to veigar they would need to do it to all of them. But you likely play someone like Zed and have veigar W when you ulti and then Q R you and you die because you didnt outplay him with a mobile mid that CAN outplay him. Just a guess though

Your point is mut as nasus stacks aren't on all skills as veigars are and nasus only gets q stacks with a short range melee type, veigar just presses e and boom easy kill.

Timethief491 votes

His Stacks aren't on e. Your argument is invalid.

Cuddly Wolfy1 votes

Nasus has a 99% attack speed slow and movement speed slow (or atleast the att speed feels like its that much when playing any auto based champion vs him) and often runs ghost along that stormraider's surge or whatever it is, so slows are nothing to him if he can get even 1 Q off. He also has built in sustain with lifesteal and can 1shot people with his Q, he doesnt need a combo. On top of that he has a ultimate that increases his health and armor and magic resist (the latter 2 of 3 are with enemies nearby i believe) making him even harder to kill. If veigar misses that stun which is actually VERY easy since it only stuns on the outside, he can be effectively kited even within his own stun box.

Oh wait, i know what is going to come next "nasus slow just use quicksilver sash" guess what?!? Veigar stun can be removed with quicksilver sash as well. Veigar ultimate can also be wasted by using Zhonyas, talk about countered by items. Nasus just runs up to you and starts whailing on you with his Q that for every hit he has a passive 10% of its damage returned to him as heal not including the boost from visage...... And wait a second, nasus can Q towers as well every 1-2 seconds? But here, lets just complain that veigar can hit his delayed attacks on you because you cant dodge to save your life and dont know how to use a quicksilver sash/zhonyas.

That ap boost for the squishy veigar that once his stun is down is easy pickings if you just dodge the falling dark matter. You want an ez counter for him? Play ap blitz mid. That is if you can hit your skill shot. Late game you can burst for about 2.5k damage at least, more than enough for all but the tankiest of veigars and he will be unable to cast any skills to save his life.

Its funny how you only said nasus was the one that makes the arguement invalid, sion, thresh, and kindred are the ones i would have personally mentioned to try to kill the commentary with because they were just added in because they also had infinate scaling.

You dont want to fight any of them late game, its really that simple. Any of them can and will kill you with ease and have no qualms about it. The main one you should worry about is that constant split pushing Nasus that you need your whole team for because he really cant just be outplayed by one or two people very easily even with Quicksilver sash being used. With him Q farming and wiping turrets out without minions even being present, and healing 1/4th of his hp in one Q........

Please tell me more about this veigar problem when theres other champions just like him.

Nah, he is a yasuo main.

Learn to play the game. He's very easy to counter. You just didn't take the time to learn. Spent your time learning how to easily counter him instead of complaining on the boards.

Xavanic2 votes

ok, then lets up veigar to 25 stacks per minion, and champion hit, and 100 for champion kills if we're removing his stacks on death

Or you just balance him and change his kit to give him outplay without relying on broken tactics.

Xavanic2 votes

thats his identity, to empower himself into the ultimate evil as the game progresses, his kit is lackluster otherwise, hell when they had the old stacking mechanic he wasnt even considered a champion at times because he would only have an extra 80ish ap by 25 min, (legit even thresh could have more then that) if you wanna counter him then play a diver, as he cannot burst them until like 60 minutes

you're talking about broken mechanics here

Veigar's kit seems broken.. on paper. Just harass him early, and he's useless the rest of the game. He has no damage pre-6. And yes, I do main Veigar.

He becomes a bit ridiculous in the late game, yeah...

My one big beef though, his W is wayyy too stronk. Getting caught inside one is pretty much a death sentence even avoiding the stun because your teammates are cut off from helping you in a lot of ways. All things considered, far superior to Camille's R. Between that, his scaling and his cruise missile ultimate I'm shocked he doesn't see play in LCS. I don't even know why I don't play Veigar.

great what's next if u died 5 times with veig uninstal button appears? thats worst than yasuo nerf qq treads..

d4rkshock1 votes

Well he gets oneshotted and isn't durable at all. Also he's a late game hypercarry. Beat him early. Also Mr exists for a reason. Instead of ninja tabi, get Merc treads. Maw and eon exist for ad. Abyssal scepter for Ap.if you can evade his shit, you should be fine.

That's a horrible idea.
