The guy isn't playable. Any benefit to playing his is heavily outweighed by the consequences.

His items take just as long to build as the critical marksmen and when he gets there, it doesn't matter because the damage is outclassed by crit if the game isn't already over... If anyone wants to play Varus, you're better off grabbing Ashe now.

Varus kept crawling out of uselessness because his kit is different enough to use different builds the moment one gets nerfed (lethality, crit, on-hit) and also has some strong utility (slow+GW, root as both zoning and islation).

I honestly liked a lot his lethality build because it required him to land skillshots and get great value if he also had some stacks on them, this is what he should be.

It makes me feel a little better knowing that people are acknowleding the fact that my main champion is once again one of the worst marksman (about a week or 2 ago he had a 45% winrate) as he was back in seasons 5 to 7 (during season 7 he got better when the On-Hit, and AP playstyles were discovered).

Riot did actually promise to buff Varus in some way if after the changes to Crit didn't make him better or made him worse. Still nothing so far... :/

As a tristana main, I'm sorry. :( I'm honestly surprised they didn't give him a compensation buff with the rageblade nerf.

It makes me sad. Varus is my 2nd most played (I'm a Bard main) and I'm noticing a lot of crit champs are still somewhat relevant with wave clear, but Varus has been nerfed for every niche he's ever had. I'm not even sure if Riot knows what they want him to be.
