What if Poppy's W was changed to stop only the first enemy dash?

Poppy's team fighting is one of the best because of how easy it to peel and initiate simultaneously with her W. Most champions only have one dash/gap closer to begin with so only blocking one dash per champion only really creates the illusion of counter play against it. Changing it so that it just blocks the first dash means Poppy can't just activate W and do whatever she wants while the enemy is forced to retreat since any attempt at counter initiating is almost always nullified by her W. The change would create more depth to using her W and her counter play since an enemy champion can sacrifice their dash so a more vital champion can use theirs uninterrupted.

Just my 2 cents.

No. Mobility creep is a thing and this is one of the few barriers against it.

Mobility creep is a thing, but the way her W works currently shuts down all mobility, with little counter play.

Shuts down the first dash of each champion. They can still dash after.

You could also just not dash.

The dash/ability that was blocked also goes on cool down. If that was the case then her W would be garbage. Also how can you argue that it stops mobility creep, when the ability itself also gives move speed? I'm not advocating that it should lose its move speed either since it would nerf the ability in a way that makes it less dynamic. Making it just block the first dash means that using it to start team fights isn't always the simplest or obvious choice (when not sticking around your carries to peel). Basically its makes Poppy have to be more picky when is the best chance to use it, while adding the risk even using it too late, or even having to be aware some enemy champion may throw their dash away so others can use theirs.

Considering how it only stops the first and that there are champions with extremely low cooldowns on their mobility, I don't see the problem.

Champions only have low cool down dashes when they have a decent amount of CDR and usually require that ability to maxed out as well. Without that most champions are not going to have their dash up by before they either die, succeed in their goal, or it becomes irrelevant. So basically her current counter play to W becomes relevant until late game maybe mid. Even then the only champions that have multiple dashes without ult are lee sin, riven, and talon. How does that not seem like a problem.

Because mobility had no counterplay before her.

Shit I guess assassins must be op then since they sacrifice waveclear for mobility. Too bad vision and CC don't counter mobility.

What about no.

It's one of the very few times in the game where you can't dash. You'll be fine.
