current lissandra changes and why they arent enough
current liss changes (pushed back to at least 8.8)
-
Passive - Old passive removed. New passive grants Lissandra bonus damage against targets she has previously impaired the movement of (slow, root, stun etc). Bonus damage scales with AP (0.2 at present), basic attacks get half the bonus damage spells do.
-
W - If it hits 3 or more targets its CD is significantly reduced and Lissandra's next spell cast costs no mana. Base CD increased somewhat, mana cost reduced.
-
Overall damage reduced somewhat on W, E and R to offset power in new passive (changes are intended to be power positive, but still need to take some damage from unempowered abilities to pay for extra damage on empowered ones). Base mana regen, regen per level, starting mana increased somewhat.
-
The most uninspiring potential passive change, frankly if it makes her damage more viable then we can live with it but riot sure isnt putting forth their best effort here.
-
not really needed but appreciated so long as targets includes non enemy champs and the base cd is only lengthened by a couple seconds
-
damage reduction on almost all other skills seems like a very bad idea. She currently has the lowest burst of all of the burst mages a .2 ratio doesnt seem enough to make up for significant damage reduction on 75% of her active abilities.
Clearly we will have to wait to see how poorly/well these changes go over but the damage reduction is concerning at best. The passive is problematic since it further lengthens the amount of time she will need to accomplish her burst since she will need to weave in more AA/abilities to do the same damage which is once again...concerning at best.
what this fails to address altogether is her survivability issue
Lissandra is a very squishy mage with no real escape whose ranges require her to be within AA range of basically every adc to do more than poke. In a meta where she can get 4hit by most adc's or fighters by mid game she needs at the very least a more reliable escape after jumping in to secure a priority target.
I really hope the reason these changes were delayed was because they were found to be inadequate.
