Should Singed's Poison Trail still be a toggle?

Don't get me wrong; Singed is still fun, but I find it curious that Riot still has his Q as a toggle rather than an effect that requires timing. If Poison Trail weren't a toggle, one could argue that it could afford to be stronger due to having a limited duration and the possibility of you being caught while it's on cooldown.

Just for the sake of discussion, do you think Singed having Poison Trail as a toggle is fine? Or would you be willing to at least experiment with the idea of it being a temporary buff?

No. It should be a Duration with a CD.

There needs to be windows in his play where you can move on him without having to chase. He will always be faster then you so his play is just annoying and takes very little skill. He builds Mana regen so its cost is not an issue so it never turns off.

If it was a Duration with a CD he would have to think when to use it and when to not.

I haven't seen a Singed build mana regen in a long time ever since his passive was changed to no longer give him bonus HP equal to 25% of his bonus mana. item 3003 isn't a great item on him anymore because he wants to build tanky.

He's a sustained champ. You're talking about destroying that playstyle to force him into the same instant burst playstyle as every other champ.

Not what I wanted to happen. I was thinking something like making Poison Trail something you activate and then it lasts, say, 10 seconds, but then has a 20 second cooldown (without CDR).

This retains the DoT aspect, but allows you to catch Singed with his pants down (at least in early-game). It'd also make any mana cost meaningful.

Considering that Q is his main damage tool (and basically his ONLY damage), that downtime would be way too heavy.

After activating it a single time, he would be completely zoned away from everyone since his kit is not able to achieve anything without his Q. The only way I see it possible to do this is by reworking his entire kit to give him more options to defend himself while his Q is down.

His kit revolves around that ability. W is to catch people, E to throw them in the trail behind you, R for tankiness and buff his speed and AP for his Q.

When the kit is so dependant on that skill, having such a big downtime will really hurt. He will feel useless most of the time, because when his Q is down he is not able to use his other skills efficiently either.

Give him a complete VGU alongside that change or I don't see this being an option.

15 seconds without CDR then? That'd be 5 seconds of downtime.
