Gameplay: namely, Champion Select

So, recently, despite Riot putting in the new "random" feature of placing those who enter queue in random positions rather than ordering by elo, I have, for 5 games in a row been last pick. I don't mind that as much, however, as the following:

Because I'm Bronze, people don't bother to talk in chat. So my pick comes up, and I don't know what position is pen, or someone is spamming, or some other problem, and then, because I took the time to try and do the right thing for the team and figure out where to go and who to pick, I get kicked from the queue for watching chat and not the time.

I have been kicked 3 times in the last few days to this kind of situation. I am sure that I am not the only one dealing with this. Why should we be punished for trying to do the right thing, and what can Riot do to solve this problem?

This isn't a problem with the matchmaking system, this is a problem with you not using your time well. Being last pick, you should be watching your team and figuring out which lanes you think they will be going. Then, when it comes to your turn to pick, it should be apparent which lanes are open, judging by your teammates' champion and summoner spell selections.

Its bronze: let me give you an example from earlier.

First: Teemo Second: Jayce Third: Cho'Gath Forth: Ahri Me: .....

The only person who has said anything about lanes was Teemo, who called Mid.

None of them had smite, and they were arguing about if Amumu was a more important to ban than blitzcrank.

I think it was teemo mid, Cho top/Jungle, Jayce top/adc and ahri support. But I have no idea.
