100 ad with crit is 200 damage
but lets say you have +15% crit damage (just random #) and you have 9 less ad
91 ad with 215% crit damage is 195 damage
so you end up doing less damage

So basically you will get even LESS value out of it then a different champion. Never do that. For katarina it might be okay, try it out, if lethality isnt too shitty it could work!
Mysticman891 votesI'm reasonably sure someone did an analysis at one point that concluded that armour pen runes are always going to be strictly better than crit damage.
I suppose now that armour pen runes are lethality, that analysis may no longer hold true at early levels, but I'd still shy away from crit damage runes as they currently exist.

on enemy alot.
If you have , crit damage also effect on the magic damage and that damage is enough for you to one shoot a wave minions (about more than 900 magic damage at level 18 to minions).
