We know she has incredibly outsized play/winrates. We know that Riot has historically been unwilling to nerf mages like her even when this is the case (coughLuxwasOPfor10monthsstraightwtfcough). So, what can we do with everybody's OP fox waifu?

Well, for starters, we can give her the base movement speed she deserves.

Yes, yes, I know. -5 MS? It's the -3 AD of mage nerfs. But it would at least be a start.

it seems like a nerf just for the sake of nerfing her. You have literally no idea why she's strong, and just want to see her weakened with something completely random.

Why are you proposing meaningless nerfs? Did you get your ass handed to you then come here without the courage to really go much further into depth? I wonder if your guilt or a lack of chesthair in the face of the ahri fancult hurrhurr

Also lux didn't need nerfs. So she didn't get any. People kept asking so eventually they just went ahead and did it. Its not favoritism, its just that when you nerf mages it never works out the way you hope. That mage doesn't just go away and then they aren't a problem anymore, the entire meta changes because that champ was used against many others. After the meta shift something else became stronger and that champ was still played but they had to be played in less fun ways. Double depression. Double problems and half the fun.

Also they had to go back and buff lux again later which cost more time and manpower.

Again its not favoritism per se. But ahri was the champ that, at the end of season 2, inspired the direction Morello wanted to take this game in to prevent more boring kog/ori control type comps and 2 hour games.

Ahri does not need nerfs.

She has low range for a mage coupled with some of the lowest defensive stats in the game and second lowest movement speed available (330 base ms) and while that can be increased with her Q, it comes at the cost of the cooldown and mana cost so it must be used tactically. She is also extremely susceptible to burst given the aformentioned issues and her damage scaling isn't particularly impressive. In my personal opinion, Ahri should be to mid what Renekton used to be to top.
