9/10 junglers are forced to recall early due to sustain problems. Intended?

Since so many of these kinds of topics have been made, but Riot has shown the "we give no f%cks!" attitude, I'm asking them this. Is it fully intentional that a jungler without built-in sustain is supposed to recall after 2-3 camps this season? Because if so, that feels like CRAP for the jungler.

Why does it feel that way to you? By the time you get Toad, Blue, and Red buff, you have enough for your first item and a pot or two anyway. It makes sense to back.

I can clear entire jungle with Poppy. Not sure what you are doing.

The new jungle does make it hard to do a full clear w/o recalling, but one of the most common thing i do to make sure my sustain is on par is: A: avoid birds. just skip them until after your first back. B: SMITE RED. DON'T SMITE BLUE. C: If blue first, smiteless blue, smite frog. If red first, smite golems, birds, then smite red.

Red smite = HP back upon smite which is more useful than the mana for the most part with blue smite. Golem smite = 1 / 5 attk is stun = less damage done to you Frog smite = poison damage AOE = faster clear = less damage done.

I've been doing a lot of WW and Pantheon jungle. WW i can stay in jungle till 6 and maybe use 1 HP pot by proper use of my abilities and smite. Pantheon I can do a full clear excluding birds w/o backing, and thats only to buy items / heal up for an early dragon at that point.

Gone is the jungle where you can mash abilities and sit and AA. You need to use your abilities to interrupt the big monsters, stun them, and also properly use smite now.

yes

Yes, they don't want you hyper farming. My issue though is not only a lack of health sustain but mana sustain as well. Evelynn and Elise starve horribly. They need their mana costs re-adjusted.

Just triple the sustain from machete

If this is for the little population of junglers (Lee, Diana, Hecarim, etc) who don't have sustain, then it's because those champs are made to gank not hyper farm. Others who have built in shields and AoE stuns like Udyr don't have problems after the first clear.

Uh, the champions you listed (Lee, Diana, and Hecarim) all have sustain. Lee has a shield and lifesteal/spellvamp, Diana has a shield, and Hecarim has a heal on W.

SirTezla1 votes

Lee's lifesteal doesn't do much anymore, Diana's shield is on a 10 second shield and doesn't shield much anymore, and Hecarim's heal on his W is dependent on the damage be deals with it.

Stacking Attack Speed while having Golem Smite is so OP

When I jungle Ez, I basically stun lock the monsters... Literally 0 attacks from the big one

They did say they wanted to focus on nerfing the early game ganks by making the jungle a bit harder, so champs that rely on early ganks are now poop and champs that wave clear faster and have a more powerful late game will be favored, riot loves making the game longer since the last 2 seasons, prob to get more revenue from tournaments since games lasted only about 20-30 mins
