Opinions on Gragas Top.

Does anyone else feel like Gragas' sustain and percentage damage top is excessive? It seems like he's impossible to remove from the lane, and far too tanky for what he needs to build. I feel as though he wasn't as obnoxious previously. It seems like the flat damage reduction is to blame.

How does the community and riot feel about him?

Last batch of Gragas' nerfs seem to have hit him pretty hard. He can no longer heal without spending any mana like before since his W now costs 30 mana, and his waveclear is greatly limited. His W deals a good amount of damage and provides innate tankiness, and there are changes currently in the PBE to decrease its base damage - but that might be an overkill, in my opinion. Ranged champions like Swain, Ryze and Vladimir can all deal with Gragas quite easily and outscale him into the late game. I really like going Ryze against Gragas because it's the matchup I'm most familiar with and have never lost. The only time he can kill you without you being able to do much is pre level 3, but afterwards you start winning every trade.

My issue I take with him, is there is no meaningful to make damage stick to him.

I feel like adding mana cost to his W is enough of a nerf to him. Now he requires more play skill than just using his W whenever it's up.

I think he just needs that flat damage reduction toned down so you can actually trade with him.

they over nerfed last patch. The W nerfs were huge and then they added the q nerf. Maybe you should try a few games as grag to see his limitations first hand.

The early game just sucks for grag. You have 2 options in lane and neither work well. Push the wave with your barrels or melee and and try to harass with q on champs. Cosnidering all the power from Q comes from letting it charge you are not doing that much damage. Plus Q is pretty expensive.
