Taric reworks looks amazing

Why couldn't you do that for Mordekaiser, Casseopia, Karma, etc?

Karma got a good rework though, and she looks great to boot. Granted, it was unpopular, but it is a good kit.

Visually her concept was a lot more interesting, and gameplay wise she lost her iconic spell not too long after. Riot's failure with Karma is more to do with them not respecting who she was as a champ and basically leaving her incomplete (missing animations etc...).

Granted, she looks better in that concept image, but then, that kind of work was probably too much to work with at the time she was redone; They captured the essence pretty well with how she looks now. I never played the original Karma, but I hear about her weird fan attack and her beam healing, and while they're somewhat unique, I also read that they were clunky mechanics, so I can understand why they were simplified into what she has now. What animations is she missing?

Oh I agree she still looks good the way she is currently, but to see that concept art and know they chose not to use that is a little salty for me lol.

Yeah old Karma was before my time also, but from what I understand they were heavily tied into her Karmic theme; which the people who played her at the time liked. The only thing which made it into to her rework was the shield bomb, so at least there something of her theme left in her kit... until they finally took that away. Regardless of whether Defiance being a bigger a shield is better in some ways which are more immediately obvious, it was at the expense of her iconic spell. Imagine riot taking away the speed the boost from Orianna's Dissonance to increase its damage, some people would like that but it would remove a nuance from the spell which others enjoy.

She doesn't have a shield or haste animation, at the time she had a shield animation om pbe that never made it to live. She's also missing mantra VO lines.

You would get a blowjob from whispering that in my ear.

Lmao wth

Basically.

Her going from a frontline mage to a squishy poke Lulux clone shows how little they knew and their poor understanding of the champion's role and gameplay.

Taric's rework is excellent, it's unfortunate that those champs you mentioned were done so much earlier. It would be good if Riot dedicated some resources to fixing the old failed and unfinished reworks, though that's unlikely to happen any time soon.

Because Riot doesn't care. It's the truth. All they have done is buff her numbers.

Karma was the very first overhaul in the game, at a time where Riot had no real reference or experience on how to completely redo a champion. Objectively, she's fairly decent in her current state, the problem is that Riot threw the baby out with the bath water and didn't really try to preserve more of old Karma (e.g. her fans, whose removal was uncalled for). Cassiopeia and Mordekaiser both suffered from insufficient allocation of time and resources: Cassiopeia needed more time to be done right, and looked rushed to fit into the Shurima Event's time frame, and Mordekaiser needed an overhaul instead of an inclusion as part of a much smaller roster-type project. Taric, on the other hand, is the product of an effort that was given as much time and as many resources as it needed, led by seasoned designers who could rely on previous experience to determine how to best approach his new look and feel, while preserving as much of his original identity as possible.

I agree. Why can't the go BACK and finish the rework? (as you know it was leaked and was shipped out un-finished)

Teridax681 votes

You mean the Cassiopeia rework? She's a part of the mid-year mage update, and so her rework is scheduled to be released with the rest of that project a little later on. It's still being worked on and the leak was just what they had come up with until then for her.

He's referring to Karma's rework, it was leaked early at the time and shipped to live unfinished.

Teridax681 votes

I feel that might have been the same thing as for MYMU Cass: perhaps the rework was leaked in an unfinished state, but the way it looked reflected the design decisions Rito wanted to enact upon her, particularly since she had the splash art and VO to confirm some of her less popular changes. I doubt Riot would have suddenly had a change of heart at that point and decided to make her kit more explicitly dualistic and closer to old Karma, though that doesn't mean it's too late to do so even now.

I don't know what the situation really was back then, I just want her shield bomb back.

Yeah he does, specially his W.

Are we talking kit-wise or thematic or visuals with Karma, Morde. Cassi etc?

TNHA Baritone3 votes

Thematic / Visuals

Good Lord he looks like a god. I'm **OKAY **with Karma kit-wise now that I play her mid a lot more.

Cass, kit.

Morder, kit.

Karma, both. She lost her frontline mage identity, replaced with a poke squishy Lulux clone, and thematically she was extremely fine, they just sexed her up and gave her pretty particles. Also lost her Ying&Yang theme for a ''Jade Dragon'' theme doesnt fit with her name.

They're not OUTRAGEOUS enough.
