Riot's Balance Team Is Inherently Incompetent

To avoid a massive wall of text and to better voice my thoughts in a more coherence manner, I'm going to try to keep this post as short and frank (while still being detailed) as possible. Riot's Balance Team is incompetent.

  • Lee Sin has remained ineffectively nerfed for seasons now, arguably being the best jungler in the game if played correctly. Riot has quite literally stated they wont touch him because of his influence in the competitive scene, which literally translates into "HE'S OUR FAVORITE, WE AREN'T TOUCHING HIM SO QQ MORE". They claim that his high skill cap justifies his power level (it doesn't), however this hasn't remained true for another champion that is arguably harder than Lee (Azir) was nerfed into oblivion despite the skill cap. Playing against a good Lee Sin player is a living hell, he counter jungles like a Nunu, he duels early like an Olaf, he has the mobility of the damn Flash, and his mistakes are near impossible to capitalize on.

  • AD is unquestionably busted right now with the introduction of lethality as well as other AD items being added. Playing a classic mage versues any of the hyper mobile champions this game offers (Lee Sin, Zed, Yasuo, Ahri) is a living hell. There's no valid reason to pick a super quishy, nearly immobile mage (Such as Aurelion Sol) in this game when if you make one mistakes no matter how minor you pay for it with your life. Meanwhile you can lock in Zed, who is one of the best farmers and safest champions to play mid while having one of the best level 6 power spikes in the game, and if you want an AP equivalent Ahri is open.

  • Jungle diversity is practically nonexistent in the current meta, with champions like Graves and Hecarim dominating nearly all elos. Graves because he abuses the living fuck out of life steal and deals a metric shit ton of damage if he gets one lethality item and Hecarim because his early game ganking combined with his amazingly high damage and mobility makes him an absolute nightmare. As someone who somewhat mains Hecarim (I don't do so because he's busted, I do so because he's the first champion I ever played and mained) I can say that its kinda unfair that, with just Cinderhulk, you can basically dive anyone. You can claim that all bruiser junglers can do so like Hecarim, but none have the same mobility mixed with damage that he has.

  • The new Aatrox rework is arguably worst that Cassiopeia's first rework, as with that rework they took a champion that was okay and made her absolute garbage but with this one they took a champion that was pretty bad and made him bacteria. It was completely uncalled for and only served to piss off yet another playerbase of dedicated mains (Aka old Mordekaiser).

  • Item Itemization is an embarrassment, with the same boots (Ninja Tabi) being bought on nearly every role because its the only somewhat real counter to lethality. Squishy and immobile mages are still left buying the only real option (Zhonyas) they have against any of these hyper mobile AD mid laners (Talon,Zed,Yasuo) while nearly every AD carry in the game is rushing lethality (Edge, Duskblade, Youmuus).

  • Infernal Dragon is still the most OP objective in the game with how easy it is to get and how much it offers, especially early. Rift Herald still being hilariously underwhelming for the effort required in getting it (You practically need a second champion to tag team the Herald, you can't solo it as a jungler unless you are somewhat like Ivern & Shaco).

  • Towers in this game are a joke and still get shredded faster than a level 1 Anivia and with all heavy AD comps nowadays it only servers to exacerbate this fact.

  • Similar to the last point I made, turtling in this game is nearly impossible against any competent team. If your team falls horredenously behind their is no such thing as "Playing Safe" and "Farming" anymore as you just get dove constantly all game, and because you are so far behind you cannot even hope to contest the global objectives such as Dragon (which is so much more important now, especially Infernal).

  • Quinn is still the most frustrating champion in the game to play against, especially if ahead in any way. She makes playing against as a melee akin to having your skin peeled off and she continues to abuse the fuck out of any AD item that is overpowered (Lethality).

  • Malz and Swain are still so amazingly difficult to balance that the team literally has no idea to do with them.

  • Your reworks only serve to make champions more problematic than they were before, Warwick still heals like he's high off cocain (While being unkillable).

Riot, for this game's sake you seriously need a new balance team. Many problems this game faces balance wise have gone on for seasons (Coughs - Lee Sin - Coughs) and you guys literally repeat the same mistakes over and over again. I honestly love you guys as a company but as someone who plays a lot of competitive based games, your game has some of the worst gameplay balance I've ever seen.

I agree. They are pretty much the definition of incompetent. They try to fix something and end up horribly breaking something else. It honestly feels like there gets to be less and less counterplay in this game every patch.
