Why would anyone voluntarily play support

Sure you can have the biggest impact on game if your ADC and team take advantage of your warding cc and engage but when your adc falls behind as well as most of the other lanes you become the most useless person around even if your kda is good.

You have poor times for duelling and your adc is so weak helping him usually gets you both killed and then the team screams for wards when they buy none and you got to ward and guess what get killed cause the enemy team has brains and they all buy wards.

I mean good grief is there any worse position than support to play when the entire team is behind. Swear next time ill screw support items and go AP morg instead of trying to give vision to people who don't use it or appreciate it.

I think top is the worst, given that the lane is an island and you have the least opportunity of impact until the late early game/mid game. I would also argue that jungling is more demanding than support - instead of just an ADC yelling at you, you have the whole team against you!

really? In my last game everyone bitched at me the 2/5/25 Morgana when our jungle shyvana who lost to a Shaco of all opposing junglers was 3/14/5 at the end of it.

Sorry dude, but even support mains will usually say that they feel bad about us poor jungle mains for how much flak we take over the course of a usual match.

Truth be told I'm not a support main I usually am in the jungle or top lane so I know the jungle gets hate as well. Specially with this new season and me not conforming to Riot's meta of Lee sin or Jarvan only

Jungle can be more annoying to play than support.

True but when I'm behind in Jungle at least I have the tools to put up a fight. Also when I fall behind on Jung I accept its my fault since its my job to be everywhere. Its more often that a support does well and loses game through team than a jungled playing well and his team loses. IMO.

Funny, I have been taking interest in the changing role that others are quickly abandoning. I have no Idea why, maybe because their plenty of Open spots in Team Builder.

As for the support role. If your in Bronze, maybe low silver. Pick a mage support like Karma, or Morgana. Finish the Frost Queen's Glam and transition to an APC, because in that ELO, Your laners can't CS for Jack and you'll end up ahead.

The only Real Problem with Support is I'm expected to be in two places at once. I'm expected to have the entire map lit up like a Christmas tree, and Baby sit the ADC in Bot lane.

I play it because I can generally set up kills pretty well and even if they don't take it I can. Even when I can't set up a kill I can normally zone their adc away from farm.

because it's fun? i like to play ap supports so even if my adc sucks i can build damage and make an impact.

also like you said if you get a good adc and you are good yourself you have an easy game

some of my best stomps were when I was support and had a godlike adc by my side

i went on a 5 game win streak into plat a season ago as support so yeahh

Because, just like with any other role, it can be so incredibly satisfying to know that you directly influenced the outcome of a won match. And some supports are still pretty damned fun like Thresh or Leona.

I have fun with support. I love running around warding, assisting with pokes and heals. Plus I am not sure if Soraka can mid lane as well as she can support.

I feel bad for the jungler more often so than the support. He gets yelled at for not ganking. I try to be super nice to the jungler so he'll gank mid often :)

Support is the master of putting up wards. Thus you have the biggest impact on your team's chance of winning the game, unless you're just way better than the people you're playing with and can carry hard.

Also anyone can make big plays. Just make it look like they can kill you when you're warding and have them chase you to their doom. I can't tell you how many games I've won with Sona by doing that. Why can't I tell you? I can't count that high.

To be honest, playing jungle or top and having your team feed like mad can be even more frustrating than playing support and having a moron for an ADC. That doesn't mean that playing support isn't frustrating, but it can feel that way. In response to why anyone would want to play support, some people simply can't play specific roles. I myself am horrible at ADC, so if I have to choose, it's support every time.
