A thought: What if we had a future Champion with a skillshot that destroys other projectiles?

I know we have Yasuo and Braum who can make projectile-destroying walls, but I was thinking something more like this:

Fire a skillshot in target direction, dealing magic damage to all enemies it passes through and destroying enemy non-turret projectiles that come into contact with it. Relatively long cooldown.

This would be a rather interesting ability, IMO, in that you'd have to make decisions on when to use it more than other nuke spells. Do you wait until someone tries to shoot you and shoot their attack down, or do you use it as a typical nuke and leave yourself vulnerable to that Veigar ultimate?

Discussion would be nice.

Have it be single target, relatively short ranged and fast-moving, and make it detonate skillshots it intercepts, and now we're talking.

Seems like it would scale way too hard with skill level.

Walls are skilled in the same way, in terms of reaction times, but they stay in one place. If there is a skillshot that does the same thing they basically always stop the projectiles from happening no matter what, especially at high level where reaction times and skillshot aiming are ridiculously high/good.

There's a big difference between walls and interceptor shots: the walls stay for a good length of time, while the shots do not. Timing is more critical with the shots.

Add on that I'd intentionally make this shot have a long cooldown, even at high ranks, and one would have to use it carefully and hope not to get baited by fakeouts.

It also would not be effective against spammable skill-shots like Ezreal's Q or Corki's missiles.

So

You mean

Like Lucia Reis' Indirect Ultimate, before I nerfed it to only apply 60% damage reduction instead of intercepting projectiles.

I love seeing you post these things only to find out somebody already came up with them. *^* It is so very entertaining!

But seriously I like the idea, the problem is making a rest-of-kit to go with it.

Projectile destruction would be easier to understand in terms of gameplay than "weaken enemy shot's damage", and it would work against non-damage projectiles like Lux's W.

As for a kit, I'm thinking a mage who specializes in mid-to-long range AOE harass and trading fire with other long-ranged opponents. It'd obviously differ in certain ways from Lux and Ziggs.

Making it not work on defensive things is part of why I decided to change it to huge damage reduction (also so that the wall form wouldn't be obviously outclassed-- the point of Lucia is to give you a lot of options, as she's the Red Mage / Jack of All Trades in her group). The other reason was because I really also wanted a silence on her kit (it fits with her story that I couldn't tell), and I needed to make sure that I didn't overload her kit. Knowledge never is something I consider, only something that I after the fact attempt to make more clear.

I would recommend a low-to-no CC one for this, so the existence of a negate-ball isn't too overbearing. While alone it's not that strong, if it was combined with CC on the same Champion it would have to have extraordinarily low damage (perhaps with %Current amplification so that the low damage is still somewhat competent).
