Could end season borders be optional? I'm ending gold this season but I don't particularly want to "boast" (not the right word, perhaps) my s6 standings. If people really want to know what I placed, they could easily look me up or whatever.

You can send a support ticket after they are given and request them to remove it. It was stated this was an option in an announcement post.

I'm pretty sure you can send a ticket to Riot Support and they will take it off. Let me know it this helped.
