Love playing adc, but find it too frustrating to main

I am not an adc main, but I do enjoy playing adc time to time. I know adcs are generally considered toxic players, but I am starting to get it. Its just too damn annoying playing games in that role.

I feel its almost a requirement to at least duo with a support you know. Maybe its different at higher elos, but I just can't do it in silver. It's not even laning phase that bothers me as much as mid to late game.

I love playing Lucian and know he is currently my best adc. However, if I want to win consistently more than 50% of my games I have to play Ezreal . I can cs and fight in lane better as Lucian, but none of that seems to matter after 25 mins. Unless my team is way ahead, it seems generally very hard to win a game. Once team fights start, I am pretty much guaranteed death. Now I know my positioning and adc skills are not pro level and I am not qquing about that. But I am not that adc that face checks bushes with the enemy team in them nor do I try and engage a fight as if I am a tank. But most games that does not seem to matter. Generally a majority of the enemy team is hell bent on killing me while my team completely forgets about me and is hell bent on fighting the enemy team. Meanwhile the enemy adc (who 3/4 of games I am pretty far ahead of) just sits back auto attacking at their back line getting 3-4 kills a team fight while my team leaves me alone to defend for myself.

Now my last two games as lucian I have been trying to go back to the crit build. But I usually do the "korean style" with first three items being item 3142 item 3071 item 3153 . I almost feel item 3153 is required so I at least have some peel for myself.

I don't even think about playing Ashe too much although she is popular because I have no faith joining a game my team will even think about peeling for me. I know some games they will and we will win easy, but I just feel like its a huge roll of the dice. So for me, I feel immobile adcs are out of the question. I used to really enjoy playing MissFortune but stopped playing her this season. I know its ironic as it was the adcs patch at the start of the season and the general thought is she was buffed. Its just my personal opinion but I feel she is too reliant on her ult now. Like yea it does crazy damage and is great if you can use it on multiple members of the enemy team. But before that she used to be great at dueling and if you were ahead you could kill enemy adcs and players quickly without having to use your ult.

Anyways qq thread, curious how others feel when playing adc. Not an excuse to be toxic jerks btw haha but saying I do find the role frustrating. I was a support main earlier this season so I am not bad mouthing supports either.

as adc the enemy will always look to take u out period.Yes it is annoying as hell when ur team flat refuses to pell for you and you cant depend on them to do so. Comes with the territory i suppose used to really tilt me when enemys just ignored everyone but me.I got over it. One of the most importsnt things to remember is ur positioning and when to actually go into the fight. Watch the pros play, they almost never go into the fight until cd's are blown and the enemy are already forced to focus the other members.I kinda just hang back and wait a few b4 trying to get into the fight .That will help alot. Im terrible at league but i understand concepts very well. Somegames ive learned no matter where u position and if ur playing well u will still lose just because of the comp when ever i play ranked and ppl refuse to play any kind of tank i know its probally gg at champ select.

Makes a lot of sense. I have noticed the pros sitting back but never really thought about it better. Thanks for the helpful insight!

no the requirements is to make your own plays and hope the supp follows up. meaning play like there is no supp there

Pretty risky it can work but if your support doesn't follow up at all you probably fucked in the 2v1. Maybe if you are a lot more skilled then the enemy laners it will work pretty well. In bronze I am usually able to 2v1 bot lane a lot so it doesn't really matter who my support is and I will get a lot of kills. But if you playing with people around your skill level its hard to outplay the 2v1. It will work sometimes when your support follows up but the times it doesn't it will really set you behind.

I mean play the lane like you have non supp . Don't rely on them .

Far worse for supports.

If you play support and your ADC is garbage, you're in for a horrendous 30 minutes.
