HOW is Lux's Ultimate not treated as a channel ?

I don't see any balance reasons behind this, as if her ultimate being back up every 40 s is not enough , you make it uninterruptible .... Why? This actually has heavy impact in several matchups and removes lots of counterplay vs lux. Why can't Kassadin q Lux to interrupt it ? Why can't Viktor Ult Lux to stop her ? Not sure if intentional or bad coding or whatever, but THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED EDIT: yea ezreal's Ultimate cannot be interrupted too apparently, not sure why.

Closest thing coming too my mind is Ezreal's ult which IS treated as a channel and can be INTERRUPTED.

Its not treated as a channel and it can't be interrupted.

First, Ezreal's ult is the same (Actually most abilities are the same, it's an extremely common ability type). Second, you're asking them to change the entire ability's type and shift it over to a completely different one just because it looks similar to the other type visually. Lux's ult can't be interrupted because it has already finished casting by the time anyone can do anything about it, it's like asking why you can't CC Garen out of any of his abilities.

Just because an ability has a forced animation doesn't mean it's automatically a channeled ability. Why should they change one ability that acts consistently with other abilities of its type? Plus, if they were to shift Lux's ult into being a channeled ability it'd mean that they'd need to rebalance it to fit within the channeled ability power budget (which is much higher than its current power budget, by the way).

Also the counterplay in these telegraphed animations is so that you can avoid it or kill the caster. There are very few times where someone is in range to interrupt an ability while also not being able to simply avoid it (or kill the caster) in the first place.

now you are being irrational there is no such thing as an ability that looks like a channel but doesnt have its properties. and it is not common only ezreal and lux have it.

These are instant cast abilities, that's the single most common ability type in the game by far (Literally every Champion in the game has that type of ability present in their kit). And Ezreal and Lux aren't the only ones with instant cast abilities that have forced animations either.

To put it in terms anyone can understand: Every channel is a forced animation, not every forced animation is a channel.

This is basic ability type behavior knowledge, not some hard to understand scripture that only a few people have ever even seen before.

I think you have no idea what you are talking about when you call ezreal's and lux's Ultimates "Instant cast abilites", when there is clearly a cast time. also you cannot seperate them from channels when they function exactly like one: champion stands still for a substantial amount of time casting their ability being prone to CC and focus fire. A draven E for example will throw Lux to the left/right and cause her to miss, but Taric's stun will have no effect on her. It doesn't even make sense it looks bugged when you see the Lux stadning still stunned and a laser comes out of her mouth. It's dumb looks broken and is not right. There is no dispute .

Lux and Ezreal have long cast animations for their ultimates. In a similar sense, Caitlyn Q and Thresh Q also have long animations and can't be canceled, either, as far as I know. It's not bad coding, it was designed that way. It just gives you time to move.
