it defeats nasus and what nasus does, any tank can do this in the top lane.

you are saccrificing scaling for cheese. its a decision to make, but at the end of the day he does this situationally, not as a standard thing.

name the number of tanks that can clear a wave with a ranged aoe that can pretty much clear an entire wave with just double dorans. without getting yourself in harass range

you just lost out on 18 Q stacks. end of discussion.

its cheese, its not viable.

Is it actually not viable though? In this video Dong Huap talks about a guy succeeding with this in Challenger, whereas stack Nasus is generally considered not capable of this feat. Obviously because stack Nasus is played almost solely, there will be exceptions on the leaderboards, but it may be that if everyone adopted this new build, he'd see much more success at high elos.

New Quas Nasus Vs Old Stack Q Nasus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyQ7SYSLs10

Seems to have a very good like to dislike ratio, as far as I'm aware this is a Diamond 1 player speaking. I mean I guess he could just be misleading his viewers for ad-revenue, because it's something people would be interested in.

Quas is rank 3 & 8 Challenger on two different accounts. His account names are "Entranced" & "por el medallon". For the info coming up I was checking op.gg.

On the account "por el medallon" he has 37 games as Nasus in Season 6 with a 68% win ratio. Nasus is his 2nd most played on this account, only 4 games behind Swain.

On the account "Entranced" he has 5 games as Nasus in Season 6 with a 60% win ratio. Nasus is his 24th most played on this account.

Apparently the point of this build is not to stack almost at all, because it wastes mana early on. The point is to create lane pressure. At least one person has shown that it's viable even in Challenger, it would seem, whereas stack Nasus falls off at higher elos for the most part, from what I understand. Can anyone other than this player pull off having such success using this build with Nasus in high-elo games consistently? I guess time will tell. It's possible that once people understand this build it will be worse than stack Nasus in higher elos, we won't know until it's been used for a while.

As far as I know even guys like SirhcEz (probably the most well known Nasus streamer on Twitch.tv) are adopting this build. Hence his stream title recently being, "Nasus No Stacks No Life MAX E META | Masters noob | SirhcEz | chill / sleep Stream".

they are not insta auto locking this and doing it 100% of the time.

its conditional, thats why its not meta, and its not being abused.

if he were to only play nasus and rush this build, he would easily have a negative win/loss and he would fall in rank.

For what it's worth, Quas has been blind picking this and beating things like Kennen and Jayce with it, and has even used this build into tanks like mao who can't punish him as much for stacking. Hard to argue with a guy that has 2 accounts in top 10 challenger.

Very Hard Engage2 votes

did jayce build mura? no, he went the "standard" ghostblade and cleaver nonsense with no mana,

did kennen build sustain? no he just got wrecked by free poke. because he "had" to rush protobelt.

both of whom could crush nasus but aren't because they still dont suspect E AP nasus.

the moment he runs into that irelia/riven/jax/renek tho.

i can guarantee they're also playing the lane wrong, instead of letting nasus push and get ganked they're trying to kill him under turret. its so easy to keep the wave at your turret or force him way out towards our turret exposing himself.

or maybe consider hes just that much better than everyone else and he forces it to work despite placing himself at a disadvantage?

I've been arguing this same thing on the Nasus Mains Sub Reddit as well. This build has ZERO carry potential and requires your team not to lose anywhere else on the map. Because, let's say bot loses hard and the enemy bot lane take 2 towers and are multiple kills ahead, take a guess where they are coming next. Yup top to utterly destroy you b/c you have no damage to sustain agaist their harass or tank items to absorb it. You are a free glorified minion to them.

42 games people... 42 GAMES! This is not enough for people to start clamoring that Quas's build is viable. After 200+ games then we can talk viability or build sustain. In my opinion this is a fad build. It's a lazy method of skirting Nasus weakness early while giving him a bigger weakness mid game from having no stacks. All this while being completely reliant on your team to carry you b/c you won't be carrying them if you get behind and have no damage or tank.

I've been beating diamond Yasuo, Singed and Darius players this week just fine with standard Nasus build. I've also lost to some but I guarantee I probably would have lost the games won if I built like Quas. Feel Free to look at my match history or look me up on OPGG. I am not maybe as high ranked as Quas but I have far more games with the champion and I have faced every match up you can think of and with my experience I think I can safely say I know what I am talking about.

Bullying out the enemy gets you a lot of gold advantage you would not usually have. It also gives you safer stacking. I usually find myself only 50 stacks behind when doing an e max, and I actually get kills early.

People overrate the importance of getting every single stack. Denying enemies farm and securing a gold advantage leads to a significant increase in your power for most of the game. It's definitely better in most situations than giving up all early game potential.

Nasus in general is situational, but I think the Q max is his more situational build nowadays

Joman7672 votes

You forgot to say max e first as thats the only time the build is remotely viable

FireDrizzle1 votes

your delaying cdr too much if you go for 1 of those armour items first.

NoobLearninGame1 votes

Yeah but then almost everything is situational, and is only viable in the sense of it being the optimal decision on a game-by-game basis. Only some champs in the God-tier and maybe a few a bit below that could be considered universally acceptable in all matches (until they get nerfed), right? It seems like all that should be said here is that you should make sure you're choosing Nasus, and whether to go stack or lane pressure Nasus as you would choose to go any other champion (and champion build) depending on enemy team composition and your team's comp.

I can't say that I've never chosen to pick a champion & build in spite of the fact that it is not considered optimal or good in the current meta, but I am naturally a bit stubborn, and just play what I want to play at times. Also if you always waited for the optimal match, you might never get to practice a build even after investing 30 hours into matches (if you're really unlucky), you might only get 1-3 matches if you wait for the perfect ally & enemy team composition. Normal games are probably smarter to practice in than Ranked of course.

thing is zzrots and banner arent late game items they are early game items as they can help you farm and people dont bm you for it

Does anyone know how well this build does against Darius? Better than stack? Wondering how it compares on all of his counters actually, like ranged champs. I've got the build setup but haven't tried it other than in a custom bot game.

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

dont play nasus against darius.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

I played Darius against a Nasus who rushed Zz'rot Portal earlier today.

I'm not great on Darius, but I managed to kill him several times in lane without many issues. I think the main issue was his lack of raw health letting me burst him down rather quickly whenever a fight occurred.

However, Zz'rot Portal made it rather difficult to actually push down his tower (especially considering their Karma would teleport in every time he died to hold it).

Basically, it was really good at stalling and keeping me in the lane.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Zz'rot Portal and E-max are great for pushing, stalling and conditional mobility.

However, I wouldn't recommend bothering with Banner of Command.

Thanks for the input.

Little highlight video from the challenger player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SAgJVjqAF4

There's also the full game those highlights are from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H25deF5xk7k

And a match vs Kennen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn5Fe7QhQVA

I think that's all that's been posted on YouTube for games the "por el medallon" account played in.

I wonder if Quas is gonna get Nasus nerfed.

Galyxi1 votes

This build is, in the infamous words of Skooch: S I T U A T... O... ugh, situational.

The build provides Nasus mains options to deal with matchups he would normally lose, such as Jace, Gnar, and Fiora. In matchups where you won't be bullied hard out of lane, such as Singed, Galio, and Maokai, it will be better to go for the more carry-oriented Q-Stack build.

Be smart out there, and please don't pick Nasus into Darius. Just don't do it.

Vargrjalmer1 votes

I tried this build today, zzrot was first item though, took the first tower at 13 minutes, killed the second 2 minutes later, and took top turret without even being there. I think the real op isnt how fast it kills towers. its how fast you clear waves and how early. the enemy team HAS to come after you or lose turrets, and if you're like me and buy 10 control wards per game and never get caught in a gank then you force them to waste valuable time responding to you and looking for your portals XD

TLDR used this build, ended 12/0 and we had an afk

I feel like this would be a better order of items item 2033>item 1082item 1082>item 1001>item 3057>item 3060>item 3078>item 3512 If you are going to cheese, then you should take a page out of the cheese god's book Singed
