you say this like it's even remotely difficult. Warwick was known for this before the rework and soon after the rework people still found out that he could do this still.

I knew this for a while Im just surprised that almost every game I get this reaction from player I even asked the people on WarWicks mains discord if they knew they could do this and they didnt.

Damn... That's just awesome. takes notes

Mind if I ask some questions now? Mainly item 3078 ... Seems to me like a meh item on him in the jungle (OH LOOK I'M A NOOB!). Why is it so good? Or is it situationally good?

PROJECT Katarìna2 votes

I take it if im ahead because all part of the item interact with his kit so well the Sheen proc from his Q the movespeed from the phage and the attack speed with 20% cdr allows you to ult more often and use his passive well. item 3078 overall I feel is best on him but if your vsing tanks or behind you can go item 3153 or tanky after bloodrazor. you can go item 3146 instead of item 3078 or as your final item and/or you vsing squishy targets or need more sustain.

Thanks for the information!

Definitely gonna want to take this into considering whenever I'm playing him. He seems like he will be so much fun to play, and probably even more so with this information. Especially compared to when I played him pre-VGU.

Would you say this is a good basic starting build to go off of for him? item 1419 item 3742 item 3065 And build situationally (game to game) from there?

PROJECT Katarìna1 votes

pretty much yeah those are good items on him the red smite and bloodrazor allows him to 1v1 pretty well and kill tanks if he needs to in a more drawn out fight, I only go item 3748 or item 3074 if I feel like our team comp has weak teamfighting potential exNasus Shaco and I need to split push and put pressure in other lanes

Void Nargacuga1 votes

Once again thanks for the juicy info! Should help me out a lot!

I guess I should have asked this sooner: Recommended skill level order? Especially the first 3 levels since those are probably the most important.

After that I think a basic recommendation order for skill maxing could work? (random example: For Malz R -> E -> Q -> W)

PROJECT Katarìna1 votes

Start Q->E->W max Q->E->W reseasons why you go E over W is because the passive doesnt work until they are low on health and the damage reduction is increased to 55% on E max and lower cooldown while his W cooldown is lowered by half when he isnt hunting a champion.

Spirit visage is not optional if you want to do much of anything, you'll often look bad score wise by getting spirit visage first but the score screen does not account for time in fight and amount of abilities you blocked which let your allies do great dps without dying.

OP's build is nice but i prefer playing WW as the territory control champion that he is, also you should NEVER build item 3074 or its sister item 3748 because those two items are straight up trap items on WW due to the cost and how little he auto attacks compared to using spells which makes item 3065 a better first or second item, if you think WW does auto a lot you need to pay more attention during champion vs champion combat and count those auto attacks.

You do still start item 1006 but it is a refillable potion and like a refillable you either sell it for the slot or if still dying to dps build it into warmogs or better yet knights vow.

I tend to like builds like this mostly item 3065 item 1419 item 3068 ( item 3143/item 3025 ) item 3140 for hard CC, if not needed the last item can be either item 3153 , item 3151 or item 3109

You might be wondering why no item 3742? because it encourages the wrong use of WW ult and you never want to use his ult to land it max range ever, it should always be held until enemy flashes or an important carry trys to use a key skill so you can disrupt it.

For runes due to lethality changes i much prefer Precision reds > attk spd quints > flat MR given there are usually 2-3 mages on a team and scaling armor yellows though you can also do flat if team is mostly ad but scaling works better past lvl 6

Void Nargacuga1 votes

But Warwick's Fangs of The Beast and Infinite Duress proc on-hit effects like item 3153 item 3742 item 3124 item 3025 item 3042 (this should work since in says on-hit) item 3074 item 3748 item 3091 Just to name a few. Pretty sure many others would work as well but I don't know them all, though the Sheen upgrades would only trigger once at the start for his ultimate.

I'm just trying to get as much information as possible. The more information I have access to the better.

Karn Bishop2 votes

The problem with that is those items do not give durability which is something WW lacks early so if you rush hydra or another on hit item all they need to do is turn on you and melt you like butter once your CD's start, it is why i highly prefer spirit visage into blood razer followed by either more tank like sunfire or some on hit crowd control iceborne.

I am not saying on hit items are bad on WW i am however saying they are bad 1st, second and third items, as a fourth or fifth item? go for it.

Thank you for the information! Its helpful.

Sheen is godly due to high base AD, similar to Poppy he has 120 base AD at level 18, which can be further buffed by Steraks which also perfectly fits an ult into enemy team playstyle.

Void Nargacuga1 votes

I had no idea his base Ad was so high. So now it's makes way more sense.

The average 3-camp clear is 2:35. That means you took about a minute soloing dragon. In that minute, the other jungler would have gotten at least one gank off in bot/mid lane, snowballed that lane, and still have time to contest you. Not very viable except maybe in Bronze/Silver.

Raven Redeemed9 votes

In Gold+ people usually have a pretty good idea of where the jungler can be for the first few minutes of the game, have their flash up, and towers are hard to dive so it is far from a guaranteed for an early gank to be a kill which leads into a snowballed lane. Drake on the other hand provides permanent stats that are generally considered to be worth the trade of one or two champs.

VoidStaresBack4 votes

The flip side of the coin is that people in gold+ should also know the infamous Warwick cheese and the jungler should be able to look into it and stop it, even if it means sacrificing ganking time to do so. Or, better yet, just have someone drop a ward there a couple minutes into the game and try to ensure bot side scuttle vision.

Raven Redeemed2 votes

Good point :)

PROJECT Katarìna2 votes

That game I got 2 fire dragons 2 ocean dragons and an air drake so it was a really sealed match rengar couldnt do anything about.

Troll for Trump1 votes

That's more of his entire team being bad and you guys snowballing.

The first drag he definitely should've stopped. Spending ~1 min soloing drag and no one doing anything about it is just bad.

If your laners are truly Gold/Plat/Diamond not every gank is a guaranteed kill.

xxxDogmanxxx1 votes

Actually, almost every gank is a guaranteed kill precisely because the junglers ONLY go for ganks that are guaranteed kills.

Paquay1 votes

Ummmmmm, not true.

Dynikus1 votes

It works out in lower elos typically because junglers don't really know how to change their pathing and will just follow the same basic route at the start of every game without really paying attention to what the other jungler is doing. If the enemy jungler knows what he's doing, he'll use the time you take killing dragon to go counter jungle, gank, and just put your incredible far behind.

PROJECT Katarìna2 votes

your still healthy after doing drag when you hit the scuttle crab

Dynikus4 votes

the problem isn't being healthy, the problem is how long it takes to take dragon that early. A lot of champions can take dragon level 1-3, they don't because it takes too long and it puts them too far behind.

PROJECT Katarìna2 votes

Took about 30 seconds I dont do it for every dragon mostly if its one that is important like ocean or red drake so that the time doing it was worth giving up 60 seconds of my time

drakuIa4212 votes

mountain drake is nice to get early aswell.

Spoofghoul2 votes

they are all good

but sustain is really nice that early to give all lanes more pressure

fire drake doesn't do much until later but is still good as it allows to out scale and your enemy can never even those stats

Karn Bishop1 votes

.... no i would use that time to farm then when i see dragons almost low enough i would kill you and smite dragon.

Aptest1 votes

let us assume this was not a one-time deal. therefore it is reasonable that this is a consistently successful strategy. i.e. your "if the enemy junlger" argument is not consistent with reality (in silver 1).

Dynikus1 votes

Like I said, it works in low elos against junglers that don't switch up their routes or react to what the enemy jungler is doing early. In higher elos where the other jungler actually knows how to take advantage of time wasted, it would be much less successful.

Aptest1 votes

I think whether this works or not works in high elo is still up for debate. Your argument makes sense but at the end of the day it is theory.

Whether this works or not in silver 1, and whether enemy junglers detect this and either contest or make a reasonably effective response elsewhere, is a matter of fact.

I would presume the securing of a global objective outweighs the loss of a 1-2 camps or even a kill on the far lane. I am however, only assuming here.

DemainaNyx1 votes

Yeah, I never played old Warwick, but I was surprised how strong he actually is. I was in a custom game just testing his jungling ability with Courage keystone, had Tiamat and Bloodrazor and I think level 8-ish (not sure) and I solo'd Rift Herald. Got really low mind you, but I still did it. I would never try this in a game since I'm not a season'd jungler so I'd probably get caught, but it's still shocking to know I can do that with Warkwick.

Backup4now1 votes

See, when I try that (as any char that can do it level 2/3), the enemy jungler just HAPPENS to be coming by when I'm halfway done, forcing me to leave and wasting a huge amount of my time.

The Yetii Rider1 votes

It's pretty impressive. My usual first dragon is around the 5:30-6 minute mark, since Riot removed Nunu's Magic damage on autos.

I might try this out but since I don't run armor seals I imagine I'll probably have to wait till at least First back to do it.

Karakot1 votes

You used to be able to do the same thing on old warwick believe it or not, I did it almost every game I played with him :)

GudLunchHavFries1 votes

Would this still be possible without the runes, but still have everything else?

been working on another rune page the past couple weeks or so, having to do yet another right afterwards may be a pain.

I REALLY wanna try this, since old poppy jg could do this too, I got tons of early drags that way way back when.

If somebody could help me out here I'd appreciate it. ^^"" Would try it in a custom game rn but I gtg to another house where I cant play league for 3 days very soon so..XP

drakuIa4211 votes

with new warwick its pretty hard to die when you're below 50% hp because of the sustain.

i have tested this strategy several times in customs, and here's what i got -

you can clear pretty much every dragon level 2 without leash or smite (with normal runes), so i think you will be okay with any rune page on him, you can also smite the dragon twice if you really need to.

GudLunchHavFries1 votes

Thanks. ^^

Ralanr1 votes

You don't even need pots imo.

MissingKayo1 votes

Warwick can do it level 1 actually with Q.

Standard AD runes with AS quints, double Smite, 3 Pots (or Biscuits).

But since buff spawn and clear is easy enough to do, it's better just to clear buff for level 2 into E for damage reduction.

And then just take Drake level 2 instead.

The only problem is if the enemy jungler walks in on you.

drakuIa4213 votes

the dragon spawns a whole minute after the first buffs spawn, so you might aswell just take them before you do dragon.
