Can we force rioters to play JG?

I don't want this to be a post about where JG is as a position. I'm sure a lot are indifferent about it.

I just want to know who I can look towards to see where this role is going. They nerfed JG experience a lot. No problem, maybe there was a certain spike for JG that seemed unfair when camps hit a certain level, but now JG is also receiving a lot of nerfs to champions who strive on early pressure (Camille in particular as of writing).

What exactly do Rioters expect of this role? I can't reiterate enough that I don't think JG is in a terrible spot right now, but I feel like it might be a sort of Atticus Finch dilemma where we have 4 other roles complaining about how strong JG always is without any actual reason other than "we don't want to deal with it."

Where is the design philosophy when making these nerfs? Right now, if a solo lane gets ahead, it's almost impossible to help.

  1. You're being cruel.

  2. I want to say only top isn't properly represented in a key gameplay team.

  3. Jungle sucks to play and can easily fall behind, but is still very impactful. Even if you're behind, showing up with buffs to interrupt a duel is going to ruin someone's day.

  4. Lots of higher ranking junglers suggest win-more ganking. Ganking for a losing lane can lead to 1-for-1 trades (gold negative) and won't necessarily revert a lead even when successful. On the other hand, ganking neutral or positive lanes has a higher chance of success plus opens up opportunities to invade or get objectives.

jungle has been op for yonks, looks liek in 9.3 Riot decided to give em the good ol 8.11 ADC treatment.

now jungler gets to enjoy being most useless role in the game like S8 ADC :3
