Hail of Blades Sylas Support, ... went pretty much as expected, .. in more ways than one ..
First off, ... be gentle lol.
I'm not really that familiar with Sylas. The times that I have played him in the past, I honestly didn't do well. I do understand that Sylas is a champion that really does require a lot of familiarity with him to play well, and I simply don't have that. I also acknowledge that playing ANYTHING off-meta goes significantly better when you're already skilled with the champion. I did play a match with him in the jungle just before that to get myself at least a little more immediately familiar with his abilities, ranges, and the combo that I was looking for here.
Speaking of, the cheese I'm looking for here involves the recent change to his passive. He is now able to store up to 3 charges of his passive, and with Hail of Blades, he should be able to get them off quickly.
The result... As you can see in the video, .. the combo works, .. but I'm just not great with him and understanding his damage limits, especially considering I'm playing him as a support.
I honestly think I did fairly well though, with this in mind. This was my first attempt and I really don't feel like I was the reason we ultimately lost. I will accept that I might have been able to apply more pressure playing a conventional support, or at least one that I am more familiar with, however I certainly wasn't feeding, and I did manage to get some of my own kills.
As expected though, the Draven wasn't happy with me from champion select. You can see in the video that he does ping me several times when it wasn't necessary. Both he, and the Diana (turns out they were a duo) ended up deciding to hang the whole match on me picking Sylas Support. They started pretty much immediately after the Sett got a triple kill by our blue buff. Before this point, the Sett didn't even gank bot except for once when the Draven was being greedy. He did catch me in the river, but I escaped easily enough. So again, I don't see how this match can really be blamed on me, but I accept that I made some mistakes and I do intend on working on them.
As for the actual build, .. I think I might still try the Hail of Blades, but it didn't go as well as I thought it might. I might try again by rushing something else like Protobelt. I might also try with Spellthiefs instead of Relic.
