I have one thing to say about people muting all in Ranks.

I know that there are some people who doesn't want to deal with toxicity but if you /muteall that means that you are refusing to communicate with your teammates.

If your jungle ask you anything such as Bait them to overextend I'll ult him to you Dragon call Baron Call or anything else please pay attention.

If you mute all technically you should have good decisions making and you don't need anyone to tell you what to do. Although if your team tells you strategic plans and you don't follow up because you aren't listening then there is a huge problem. IF you don't want to deal with toxicity then take a break from the game and come play later. Even if you are getting abuse, you aren't the only one who wants to win the rank game.

Technically Refusing to communicate with your teammates is a reportable offense but what is the consequence to that? I've never heard someone getting banned for that.

Pings still go through though. I ping more than I type anyways to communicate with my team.

you say that, but you really dont.

"you cant know that, i really do, I ping all the time"

  • over thousands of games, no you dont. I have never seen ANY muter ping more than 10x per game. thats being generous, super generous, its always less than 5 pings total. just because you have nothing nice to say doesn't mean you mute everyone else.

you mute because you are toxic, and you cant risk a ban or another type of punisment so you would rather the game be silent and stay bronze/silver for life. diamond players average closer to 25+ per game. they ping wards, mia on jungler, mia on their laner, hey i want you to push your lane up, danger you're being ganked.

the people who dont ping and are high elo are already in voice chat. watch any streamer and you'll quickly learn this just by watching their minimap or listening to their chat.

I mute all as well, and it's more so that I can focus more on what I'm doing. Even when I don't mute all, I never really look at the chat box anyways because time is more efficiently spent listening to pings and watching my lane and the map.

Sometimes all you need is 10 pings for a game. Only one ping if you see enemy jgler heading to another lane, one mia ping when your lane opponent is gone and a blue ping for if you want something warded or want your team to start thinking about drag or baron.

I'm not a toxic player but I'd rather play my game and have fun without seeing my teammates tilting in all chat or waste time typing in general. You should already know that if you want a gank to not over push your lane and that overextending is asking for the enemy jg to gank you. That's just common game sense that I guess may be not so common.

Mute all is even better now that you can ping your cds. Legit never have to talk if you don't want to, as long as you know how to listen and pay attention to the map.

mute all < muting single players after they become "toxic"

when their "toxic" behavior is - you should buy a zhonyas, thats the 4th time you've died to zed now, stop feeding.

notice, theres actual hidden advice, they aren't saying they had sex with your mother, they aren't calling you downs, its strictly pointing out where you are going wrong, and how you can fix it.

not saying what they said cant be improved or reworded, but denying the team the chance to communicate with you right at the start of the game is outright wrong. you are playing the way you want to and that will only get you so far, you are denying yourself and making the game harder than it has to be.

lets say you're playing ahri mid.

top laner- "i think ahri needs to dive rengar hard when she sees him, she could really 100-0 him before he ults so we dont lose our vayne instantly"

congrats, you dont get the message at all on ahri, top laner and vayne thought you would do it, you didn't, we yell and scream at you now for screwing over the team plan and you gave no acknowledgement either way.

in this situation muting everyone at the start is wrong, and directly caused the loss of this game. you have to listen and communicate with your team mates

Not even man. If you're on edge from life or from earlier bad games it's better to have it all muted. And you should know by now that you shouldn't ever expect anyone to do anything in games except feed. Pings are still an effective way to listen and communicate with your team.

In that situation for example, where's Vayne's peel? Do you even have a tank? Unless the whole team is warding, chances are you might not see the Rengar before he ults, and besides you're a squishy too which means he can turn for you instead of Vayne and destroy you instantly as well.

Very Hard Engage1 votes

rengar cant 1hko through zhonyas/rylias. assuming thats what ahri has.

in addition ahri can charm rengar while leaping and cancel it assuming good reaction time, ive done this several times myself.

finally a tank can not prevent vayne from getting insta gibbed, he can only peel after hes landed and done his 100-0, you need proactive peel and or find him when hes alone. ahri has tons of mobility to invade an enemy jungler, place wards, and scout, much more than vayne or a tank anyway.

even assuming the tank had something like a blind sejuani ult, you save that for more than one target, charm has an 8s reliable CD which can be spammed.

vayne cant do it herself because you cant click rengar while hes in the air, but can be hit by traveling skill shots. (even when auto condemned with a script the damage still lands on vayne even if casted while hes in the air)

an ahri could be with vayne and prevent the death outright, but hell, you weren't tight enough and assistance assistance assistance on one spot wasn't getting through, although you were in the same lane together you weren't on top of vayne to be there for her, which may have been what the ping was asking for. but you wouldn't know because you MUTED EVERYONE.

Well, I don't play ahri so I can't really say more on what you should or shouldn't do in that situation. As a support though I know that you sure as hell should be peeling for that Vayne regardless of an Ahri.

The only thing that is a huge con with muting everyone is when your team is calling what's been burned. Malz ult, ww ult, flashes, heals, etc. Then and only then do I see the real problem with muting everyone. At least in all the games I've played from Bronze 5 to Silver to Gold 5. If I as a support main am doing my job right, my ADC will rarely get destroyed by a Rengar.

I'm not saying you're not completely wrong though, there are people who would need the advice and probably shouldn't mute, but then those are generally the ones who tilt easily and will run down mid then ragequit. At least in low elo... but then gaina, in low elo it generally doesn't matter anyways

I don't know if this is directed at me or not, or you are just simply speaking in generalities. I don't mute all, but I also don't communicate much in chat on a game-to-game basis. Typing takes too long, you can make mistakes while typing, and I'd say probably 70% of the comments people do actually type out are insults or the questioning of decisions. I avoid typing out information that is not necessary and it two people are arguing on my team about something, I simply Sometimes I see helpful or constructive comments, but I don't see it much from lower elo.

I ping a lot per game, but it may be due to playing a lot of Nasus. In the early game my top laner will leave lane a lot as I farm under tower. I can't respond early in the game, so I make sure the team knows that my laner is roaming. I also ping for where I am going if I intend to split-push.

I've managed to get to high Gold without a great deal of typed communication in-game.

The community is pretty terrible in general and I think it is perfectly fine if someone wants to mute all teammates.

  1. It isnt reportable because people can ping efficiently without typing, Personally i dont want to deal with flaming bronzies so i mute them and dont care.
  2. As i just addressed pings are the easiest way of communication. Nobody eants to type a five page essay on where theyre going.

thats not one thing. Thats a lot of things.

Dynikus1 votes

you can communicate most of what you want with pings. I never mute, but if muting everyone is the only way you can stop yourself from getting tilted, it's better to miss out on a little bit of communication rather than play poorly and flame your team.

Aptest1 votes

We get your point. now, all these things are possible for your jungler to say. but usually the jungler will say other things. that you dont want to listen to.

Zero Skill Tank1 votes

All junglers do is taxing anyway. You don't need to communicate for that.
