Why Support is a dying Role

(This opinion is based on Diamond Elo Games)

Support is a boring and an ungrateful role. No matter what you do as support your teammates do not notice because you are expected to do your job right.

Nobody runs around screams "BEST SUPPORT!!!", they are more wowed by "double kill by Ezreal".

Nobody gives a fuck how many skills you blocked, how many thresh hooks you landed, because they will notice the two you missed.

The fact that you are always 5+ levels behind and never finished build is not pleasant.

Support is so unpopular that choosing 'fill' in DQ is 95% instant Support Role, while other lanes wait 6 Min in queues.

RIOT had a perfect formula in the end of season 5 and killed it in Season 6. The game is dying.

Get into Diamond Elo games and see how much "appreciated" you will be. One mistake is enough to destroy a whole game and supports there get shit on.

The fact that you main Sup, a Good support in-fact, I respect you for that. Tired of seeing Sona mains (0 skill/brain) Champ trying to teach me about support. However, support is not a hard role. Know how to counter their support and it's an easy lane.

What are you talking about, all you do is play Aram. You don't even pick a champion, it is picked for you.

As an ADC main, having a god like support is incredibly noticeable, often making or breaking the lane.

Supports are the unsung heroes of league. Players who play support don't play to get kills and glory, they play to win.

I don't think that support is boring.

It's all I've been playing in my ranked games this season. I do think it's unappreciated, but I've been able to climb. I noticed it's just a bit slower.

What I'd like Riot to do is fix the scaling issues most supports have. It's frustrating being 2-3 levels behind your teammates just because you're support.

I agree it is commonly ungrateful, if you fall behind on it, it can become miserable. But if you are really good at it, you can hard carry games just as any other role.

Play Bard, Blitz and Braum, get good at them, roam the map(yes leave the ADC alone) and gank just like a jungler.

I am Diamond Border lol. Support is easiest role in the game. Stand there and spam laugh emotes.

Its more boring now. Xp mastery RIP. Ppl barely mention you, and if they do, to bash.

Supps role in low elo to manage sidelanes or think tactically, carries playing ARAM and TDM on SR.

Yellow trinket makes Sightstone feel meh ish. Still great, but has declined in greatness.

New Supp isg items with Sightstone in build path are underwhelming.

You can carry, but this meta it isnt as simple. More dependant on burst, which supps lack.

And in Ranked, id rather play carry. Cause then i can carry hard as Ahri or Brand. Viktor to some extent. Jinx or Cait. Voli top or Jg. Easier with em (bit elo hell real, hence hard with em, nigh impossible with Supp).

To be perfectly honest I think support is more game changing than it has ever been.

The passive gold along with the not having to spend half your gold on vision lets you build out some items and really get involved in team fights, where previously even as a tanky support you would always have to stay back

That seems kind of out-of-nowhere. I mean, support wasn't a popular role in season 5 either, and it's not like it's gotten worse. Support is about as popular as it was before. Season 6 has a lot of problems, but it didn't really change the support role that much.
