with all the trinket changes and stuff i just feel like fog of war is there just because it was in the past and nobody wants to go through the trougble of removing it

every game ... everry freaking game i feel like riot is showing wards onto me ... because im a brainless minion too stupid to buy a ward

in the past when you were warding you were the man ... you were making plays thanks to your vision ... you knew your stuff and you could usue it to your advantage

now you just walk the entirely warded map ... that wasnt warded intentionaly ... people just popped wards because it doesnt cost anything and might be usefull once in a year

and enemies have the same situuation on their end ... the value of vision got degraded to the point where i think that a ward costing 75 g isnt worth it

No. No no no no no. This is not the case at all. There is never a point in the game that a ward is not useful. Nor is vision "free". Sure, you have your trinket, but that isn't a ward. It doesn't last nearly as long and it has a cooldown. Upgrading your trinket is a good thing to do. And having the entire enemy jungle warded? Good luck with that. Your whole team would need to have walked deep into their jungle and coordinated ward placement. Generally not gonna happen.

Technically the upgraded stealth trinket is an actual ward, it lasts the full length of a regular bought stealth ward, and the cooldown is a third of the length of the duration of the ward, making it not really a big deal.

Keep in mind I definitely don't agree with wards not being worth purchasing, as they certainly are. If you make it to level 9 without placing any wards beyond that crappy post 9 trinket ward, you're doing something wrong, or the enemy team is doing something wrong in that you don't need to place them.

Honestly, I find that a single pink ward in top lane is enough to last for most of the game. If you don't walk into lane with the pink ward, people often don't even think to check (and so many people just don't ward, so they won't even accidentally run into it).

Alternatively, if you have good wave control you can usually keep the minion wave near your tower, which somewhat reduces the necessity of warding. It doesn't eliminate it, but it's far harder for enemies to get to you without your knowledge.

I've had that happen a few times as well, it makes me sad when a pink in that river bush lasts me through the entire laning phase and only went away because I planted a new one somewhere else.

I have to admit my post was made largely from a mid laner's perspective where I have two different sides to get attacked from commonly.

Having a pink ward last the entire game can be somewhat depressing. Having the enemy walk by or through the bush containing it (several times) without even noticing the ward is hilarious.

Honestly, I find that if I ask the jungler to pink one side of mid lane for me, many are willing to do so.

I've found this to work more frequently with powerfarming junglers than ganking junglers. They have a more reliable gold income and many are willing to spare 100g to prevent mid-lane from getting ganked. After all, if they don't have to worry about their lanes falling, they can farm and scale with less risk of their allies falling behind. Most mid-lane wards also double as protection against jungle invades, which helps convince them.

Top and bot lane don't really have an issue when warding anyways. Top lane can easily provide their own wards and many junglers tend to avoid the lane while Dragon is up. In addition, many top laners are split-pushers and will commonly by the Greater Stealth Totem for their own safety. Bottom lane has two trinket wards to work with early and a Sightstone later, so they can easily protect themselves.

I actually think this is a good shift, people actually understand that having vision is important to a game's success and they're placing wards.

You're right though, Riot is definitely shoving wards on you, because vision is important and if you don't ward you might as well blindfold yourself and walk through a minefield. Just because you can't see the threat, doesn't mean it isn't there.

The value in wards comes from the peace of mind they provide and knowing where to place them to benefit you is how you get more out of that 75 g, rather than just throwing them in a random bush.
