Basically moving the attack speed bonus to w was dumb. Riot thought that it was bad that maxing w didn't give any actual damage increase when upgrading it. Well, yeah, I could have told you you didn't actually benefit in damage when leveling that skill. But you still wanted to put points into it to increase your range and lower that god-awful cooldown so it's actually usable once in a blue moon. Now E is maxed second because q is so worthless now.

IMO having clear "always max this skill first no matter what and 99% of the time level this skill second" gameplay really limits decision making and makes a champion seem less interesting and one-dimensional.

Kog is basically one denominational now, this change or not.

Still though, I'm glad they at least sorted out the laning phase part of this. I'm sure they'll find ways to tune it with numbers.

My biggest concern and point of confusion is why he falls off late game. Kog isn't supposed to fall of late game. Of all the champions to fall off late game... Kog'maw?

He falls off late game because the only multiplicative steroid he has is his attack speed boost. Champs with hyper scaling typically have at least two steroid sources.

Back when Kog's W scaled with AD, for example, he hyper-scaled into late game. Every change Riot has made since then has pushed Kog harder and harder into an early/mid game champion.
