Dropping Items

So, I've had a few games where this has been possible, and though I recognize the event is highly unlikely in any sort of competitive play, what do you do when you've reached full build, keep getting tons of gold, and your team still needs a little help to reach their builds?

I'd like to see the option to "drop" an item to someone in need of it on your team. Like... maybe you just had a fantastic top lane and your ADC got a really nasty matchup. You build hydra, and have enough gold left over for a recurve bow. Your ADC is building Hurricane, and has already picked up the two daggers.

If you could drop that bow to them, or purchase it for them, it might help alleviate some major pressure put on one lane if others are succeeding.

It sounds nice, but a problem I can see with this is heavy snowballing. Another thing is giving kills to the right team mates is a huge part of the game and teamwork in general and removing that would just make the game far more forgiving for no real reason. "Hey, I'm a support that got 3 kills in laning phase. No problem, I'll just buy a BF sword for him while he gets the other two items for IE so my money doesn't go to waste." I mean, it really doesn't sound that big on paper, but it would change the way the game is played so much because in 5's, supports and junglers could pool all their gold onto a carry or onto whoever's struggling to make sure they win their lane even if they're getting outplayed.

Imagine if you're just fighting a Ziggs in lane, you manage to kill him once, then he comes back in lane with a Deathcap at 12 minutes because his jungler decided to buy a large rod for him, since he knew Ziggs can just play safe and poke from a distance. It would warp the way is played so much, it just seems like a huge hassle to balance.
