Yo! Hey there Boards! I know people are tired of seeing champion rework concepts, so I'll keep this as short as possible.

I got kind of bored in class earlier, and came up with a scheme that I think helps Taric shine through as a support.

Passive: Gemcraft-Taric grants every ally in a 650 unit range 20/30/40% of his own armor.

Q: Imbue-Taric heals every ally currently receiving his aura for X + 10% of his armor.

W: Rock Steady-Taric reinforces the gems around his allies, granting them a shield equal to 20% of his armor.

E: Solitary-Taric summons a gem prison around target enemy (skillshot range 700), stunning them for 1.25 seconds. He may shatter the prison early to slow and reduce the armor of the targeted foe. (Might want to add damage to this, though I'm not sure.)

R: Gemlines- Taric passively gains an extra 10/15/20% yield from health and armor items. He may activate this skill to summon a gem-field from the ground anywhere on the map, knocking enemies up and dealing damage based on his bonus armor and health.

TL;DR: Taric becomes an utility support with a heavy focus on teamplay. I've taken away some of his inherent damage potential in order to give him a coherent kit identity and some legitimate usefulness without getting in the ADC's way.

Here are some screwy base stats I thought might work with him, though please feel free to yell at me about how they'd make him broken. Maybe submit an alteration?

HP: 525 + 45/lv Health Regen: 7 + .25 Mana: 300 + 60/lv Mana Regen: 4.1 + .5/lv Armor: 30 + 5/lv Range: 125 AD: 60 + 5/lv AS: .625 + .125/lv MR: 30 + 1.25/lv MS: 360

EDIT:

As per the conversation with HullaBaloo907:

There's potential to edit the abilities this way too:

Passive: Taric passively gains an extra 10/15/20% yield from health and armor items.

Q: Imbue-Taric heals every ally currently receiving his aura for X + 10% of his armor.

W: Rock Steady-Taric spreads his gems around his allies, granting them a shield equal to 20% of his armor for two seconds on activation. This ability may be toggled on once every 6 seconds.

E: Solitary-Taric summons a gem prison around target enemy (skillshot range 700), stunning them for 1.25 seconds. He may shatter the prison early to slow and reduce the armor of the targeted foe. (Might want to add damage to this, though I'm not sure.)

R: Gemlines- Taric summons a gem-field from the ground anywhere on the map, knocking enemies up and dealing damage based on his bonus armor and health.

I think part of what your missing is that taric currently is that he is undertuned because he gives his adc too much free stuff already, and this would give them more. Currently, i can build a frozen heart first on taric and give my adc a big advantage just by being in bottom lane. Your passive would just exacerbate that issue. Riot wants to get rid of things that gives a team an advantage just by showing up because they are no fun.

the q and the w are cool if you didnt have the passive, but i also think they are mutually exclusive. Being able to stack two sheilds on someone and heal them would be crazy strong.

the r would be so broken. Global ults are already strong, but one that gives you passive increases on everything you need plus a knockup would be crazy op.

E is pretty cool. While ill miss the ultra-reliable peal, the e is something i really think they will change.

I actually don't really mind the current Taric too much. I think a good change though would be to make his E into a dash that stuns enemy champions in front of him at the end of the dash. This would help him get in range for his w and r. A bit more manly too than dazzling the enemy champion with light from his shield ...

Would make taric a bit more mobile and able to engage a bit better than he currently can.

Bumping to hopefully start a discussion.

Hrm... what about an Amumu-like toggle on the aura then, with an initial shield when activated? Long CD between toggles to make sure you're not spamming the shield.

That makes space for moving the ult passive to his actual passive slot, and leaving the ult be.

I see what you're saying for sure, and I think these kinds of changes could make Taric feel like a much more rewarding champion.

I like the idea of making taric better but your ideas are over the top IMO. Like that concept is really overpowered. Taric is already viable, the problem is that he is useful just by standing there, effectively making him boring and there fore underplayed.

This is a skill (W) concept that could be factored into any rework

instead of just giving allies armor passively, he should be able to stack armor on his allies. Lets say his w gives him stacks based on its lvls. He would have a maximum of five stacks so he could give them one to every teammate, including himself. But, he could also transfer extra stacks one at a time onto the carry that zed just ulted, or he could hold all them while he stands in the from blocking skilshots. If he has to transfer them one at a time, then he won't be really OP. Im imagining him clicking w over an allie to give them oneof the stacks that is on him, but im not sure how he should pull stacks off people yet.

I think a good feature would be: double clicking w evenly distributes armor stacks to nearby allies and prioritizes the ones with the lowest armor first, in the event that there arent five allies around.

the stacks should still scale with tarics armor. I think it would also be wise to give extra stacks diminishing returns, such as the first stack gives 30% of tarics armor, the second stack on the same person only gives 20%, then others only give 10%. Giving a max of 70% of tarics armor(I haven't considered the exact numbers much). We dont need the adc to have 100 armor at lvl 9...

I suppose they could also make his ult heal all nearby allies like your suggestion says, by making it heal anyone whos wearing his W gems.

With this method of givig allies armor, he will maximize the armor he donates by giving one to each allie and allowing it to work like an aura, but also gives him a reason to pay attemtion during teamfights.

Bumping one more time. Would love to get some of the more experienced rebalancers or a red in here to comment.
