So just for discussion sake and wanting to see the opinions of others, which champions do you feel are just truly cancerous for the overall feel of league of legends. This does not mean a champion that is currently overpowered (i.e. Elise, or Skarner...although if you have reasons other than them being currently strong...please elaborate!). What I mean is, which champions to you have the most vile kits that leave you feeling there is little to no counterplay or force you to play in such a way that it is simply not fun anymore. I will elaborate on my personal picks at the end of the post, but I am posting this as more of a community discussion for everyone to put their thoughts in. Maybe later I'll make a poll based on how everyone posts. But for now, I just am curious as to people of all elos and ranks feel about the game currently.

On the counter side, which champions do you feel riot created such a great and amazing kit...and you wish they had more champions as well designed as these? I'll also post mine right after.

I'll start bad and end good for myself! since its always good to end on a positive note(remember just my opinion):

MOST CANCEROUS(in no particular order):

Kassadin = I feel even though he is weaker right now, his kit is just generally obnoxious as all hell. Especially since he is such a hard counter to ap champions with his passive. Add in the insane mobility and the magic dmg shield in addition to his passive against the ap champs and you have a champ that is very frustrating to play against as an ap mage. there are definitely ways to counter him and I'm not saying he's overpowered, but I feel like his kit is generally speaking pretty obnoxious.

Poppy = Riot has already blatantly said they are reworking her so thats good, but for now her kit is pretty awful to deal with once she gets a few items. Another champion you can't give too high of numbers because if you did she would run rampant. Her ultimate is far too difficult to counter (as even CC from non targeted champions won't affect her) and her passive makes her naturally tanky while building mostly damage.

Urgot = Pretty standardized kit that is either feast or famine by landing one ability that is average in terms of difficulty to land. And when landed really only has one counterplay and that is to run when hit by it. Not much else to say there as a kit centered around something so simple and swinging positively or negatively so easily is pretty annoying to play against or have a bad player playing the champion on your team with.

Yorick = we all know just how frustrating it is to lane against this demon of a champion. Obviously outdated and going to get reworked, but in the meantime he is just total cancer to go against in lane. You may even win your lane a lot of the time against him, but even when you do you do not feel satisfied as he will simply walk back into lane and continually harass you endlessly. Not to mention there's not much else he CAN do. His ultimate is a fantastic identity for him but he has literally nothing else besides it.

Fizz = now before all the fizz fanboys get upset over my opinion of this, just note that it is only my OPINION and I am not stating this as fact. Fizz to me, is not quite on the level as the previous 4 mentioned, but his kit is generally speaking pretty cancerous to go against. While some champions have invulnerability or untargetability; ( Kayle Lissandra Tryndamere Ekko ) Fizz has his on a comparably shorter cooldown as it is not his ultimate. For the other 4 if you notice, it IS their ultimate. While I love the identity of fizz hopping around being this slippery fish....I feel that when you are against a fizz there's not much quite as frustrating as his ability to slip all around you WHILE dealing insane and massive damage to you that is easy to land. Ekko is a champion I feel is similary in theme to Fizz in that he makes you feel like you outsmart the opposing player when you do get your damage off. Ekko is fairly mobile has a ton of utility in his kit and relies on outplaying. Fizz is much in the same, but his damage is so high to pair with his mobility that its cancerous. I wouldn't list him because people say "well this sounds like he just needs a nerf") but the problem is Riot has nerfed fizz into oblivion over and over only to bring him back. They have tried changing his ap ratios lower and making him rely on ult, resulting in tank fizzes everywhere in top lane as well just generally nerfing his numbers making him far too weak at what he does. That to me screams of a champion with a cancer kit that needs a slight rework.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Heimerdinger Annie Akali

BEST DESIGNED CHAMPIONS(in no particular order):

Orianna = amazing identity with her ball and utility. Forces you to keep an eye on her ball as well her positioning as well as the ability to help her team while being able to turn on you at any moment. Just a fun kit to play and you never feel frustrated when you get shockwaved by a great ori ult. At least I don't. I always feel like "damnit, I should've paid attention to the ball"

Thresh = Not much to say here that everybody doesn't already know. All of his ablities can be used offensively or defensively. He is truly the definition of a support. He supports his team for WHATEVER they want to do. He isn't the best any one particular thing, but he is good at everything. Which to me, means he is the most well balanced support in the game kit wise.

Gnar = Props to whoever designed this champion. Gnar is extremely fun to play as and against. He's strong, but can be played around. You have to pay attention to his rage bar as when he goes big...he goes big. and it fits his identity so well. You have this cute little yordle running around being a nuisance. he's fast. he's kiting you. he's chasing you down. you get annoyed, you try to turn on him, but wait...lil' guys getting angry! better run before its to...GNAAAARRRR. And that's what makes him fun. He has defined moments of vulnerability(but isn't weak) while having moments of dominance.

Azir = while he is overpowered right now, his kit is incredibly well designed. From zoning, to poke, and commanding soldiers he's very fun to play as. the emperor's divide ultimate is one of the best thematic fits for a champion in the game as when you finally jump on this squishy chicken, his soldiers come to his aid and get you off of him while keeping you off of him. Like I said, he is too strong currently, but his kit is not the problem. just the numbers.

Rumble = pretty much one of the most intuitive kits out there as well. the heat mechanic is amazing as you can see when he is strong and when he is vulnerable if he overheats. it requires a lot of management and skill to play and you always have to be weary of where you are standing and running to against a rumble because of a gamebreaking ultimate. His flamespitter truly feels like it burns you alive as you see your HP melt down as opposed to other burst champions which your HP disappears in chunks. His kit and the way the damage works thematically go so well together I am always impressed by how fun rumble is to play both as and against.

are you kidding me with gnar? hes pure cancer.

almost impossible to catch in ranged form with his stupid hop, movement speed buff and slow stacked on top of each other, and impossible to fight head on in melee form since he just locks you up and bursts you before you can react.

even if you do manage to catch him out in ranged form, half of the time you got to run because you wont be able to kill him before he transforms. ranged recourcless = infinite sustain from a safe distance, AND heals himself with his transform.

probably one of the worst designed champions in 2 years. he deserves to be hammered into the ground and be forgotten.

thematically? fine. mechanically? 0/10 would not want to see him in my game. his design is fucking broken in multiple places.

for cancerous or well designed? Im guessing cancerous since you included teemo. why yasuo? just curious as to why you feel the way you do? not arguing your anything.

I think you understated how horrid fizz is. And don't worry about offending fizz mains, they aren't real people.

why do you feel vayne is cancer brainless? she is strong in a duelist identity, but unsure as to why you feel she is brainless to play?

why do you feel vayne is cancer brainless? she is strong in a duelist identity, but unsure as to why you feel she is brainless to play?

Because she doesn't require skill in anyway except dodging spells within her kit.seriously. Of course she takes little skill there and there but that's her role as a marksman, not the champion herself

MOST CANCEROUS: All assassins + champs made by CertainlyT. BEST DESIGNED CHAMPIONS: All the other champs.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

MOST CANCEROUS:

Vayne = Do I even have to say anything? She has one of the safest early games even though she's bad at that time, she can scale from completely losing lane and having less-than-average CS into a monster, is the only ADC in the game(not counting Gnar who's generally not taken as an ADC) with a stun(plus she has a knockback so its basically like a Tristana ult on a low cooldown), and can destroy tanks as easily as squishies(and that's really freakin' easy)

Fizz = This guy is terrible in the early game, absolutely crap, might as well not be there unless you let him AA you with no return damage because why not. But at around 10-15 minutes he gets his Lich Bane and from then out he can burst you so hard and fast, in the time it takes him to E and then hit you with the fall damage, your screen is grey. Heck, even if you're tanky enough to sustain his damage, he can still play with you with his untargettable and get away with all his mobility.

Brand = High-range burst and poke(for all-ins and lane harass/trading). Not much else to say. This guy is just generally annoying as fuck.

Xerath = Read Brand.

Chogath = A passive to sustain through almost all your poke, an AA buff, true damage, a built-in smite, an AOE knockup + slow, and an AOE cone 1.5-2.5 second silence. Oh, and to add to that, his knockup and slow has a 100% AP ratio, his W has a 70% AP ratio, his E has a 30% AP ratio, and his R has a 70% AP ratio, and to add to all his damage, utility, bit of range(from his Q), and the fact of being an AP-tower-destroyer... he gets to have 90-900 bonus health(level 16 six stacks is 900 health, level 6 one stack is 90). Like, maybe he wouldn't be so annoying and broken if you could shut him down, but you can't. If he doesn't do damage, he's a CC tank(plus he still has base damages which are high), he can secure dragon and Baron, and is the biggest meat shield in the game. And its super hard to shut him down, because every time he kills a minion he regains health and mana, basically ignoring most of your poke and then poking you back with a nice Q-W-AA combo that you can't run from unless you're LeBlanc, which will probably take down about half of your health, 1/4 if you're a tank.

Honorable Mentions: Annie Sejuani Leblanc

BEST DESIGNED CHAMPIONS:

Ahri = Really fun and challenging to play against. It tests your ability to dodge skillshots and predict someone's actions while not being totally OP. If she lands a charm on you you're probably dead, even if you're LeBlanc because she can generally just ult up to you for the damage and gap close. But if she can't land those charms then you're probably going to win lane and beat her. Kind of feast or famine so not particularly well designed but fun to play against.

Heimerdinger = Gonna be honest here, I love playing against a Heimerdinger. It might seem weird but I really do. He's so cancer and annoying to play against... if you don't know how to play against him. However, as a particular pissed top laner that always went melee against him, I learned to play around his strengths and weaknesses, bait out abilities, time when his are on cooldown and when I can get a successful gank or just dive him and get a kill.

Sion = This champion is just the best. If this were in order he would be at the top. He's a tanky guy, with CC and damage, but he's not like Cho'gath, no, his abilities are spread out. He doesn't have too much damage, but neither does he have too little to not be a threat. He's good at scaling but not nearly at the rate Cho'gath does, nor can he even match his high health gain unless the game somehow makes it to 3 hours and he's farmed that whole time.

I have more but not enough time to write them up, I'll put them in the honorable mentions.

Personally I disagree with a few of your points. Kassadin If the current buff on the PBE goes thru, he will be the most balanced assassin in the game. Poppy is a beast late game, but her early game is pretty bad. She is like a more extreme version of Nasus. Urgot I give him props just for countering Zed. Yorick Extreme lane bully, but he falls off late. Pretty decent trade off if you ask me. Fizz Has been broken since release. Needs his E CD increased at least 3 seconds every rank, he can use it 3 times in a teamfight. Orianna Great champion. No complaints. Thresh Great kit but does WAY too much damage for a support. You can play him as the ADC for God's sake. Gnar Overloaded kit. Can counter anyone top and easily play around the few weaknesses he has. Azir Good kit, but a very toxic champion. Sand soldiers should be able to be targeted, at least by the towers if nothing else. Rumble Good kit, solid all around.

Op may have written one of the dumbest things I have ever seen on the internet. You know how hard that is to do.

LOL @ Orianna Thresh Gnar Azir being well designed. Those champions have some of the most broken kits in this game.

Good design does not = brokenly op like those you listed.

Ahkor Luna1 votes

bad designed champions: Cassiopeia -> her stacking passive Ekko -> his whole kit has completely wrong scalings (the power of some abilities should be shifted to other abilities). also his passive... Fiora-> her ultimate Gangplank -> his coin mechanics to upgrade his ultimate Mordekaiser -> gets full hp in a duo lane, has an ability that is useless in a solo lane TahmKench -> gets passive scaling with his ultimate

the problem is not how strong they are, but the way that riot gave them that power. riot should find better mechanics to give them the same strengths.

cancer champions:

Akali Fizz Irelia Riven Vayne

they are not bad designed... they are just a pain to play against. not funny at all.

Completely ignoring the items that have already been said, I would label champions with controllable transformations that don't have inbuilt counterplay options independent of skill cancerous. Jayce and Nidalee are good examples, because an equally skilled player of one of these champions usually takes more than one person to bring down, but by nature of their kit usually has no trouble handling one equally skilled adversary.

Unless you have hard CC, damage, sustain, AND mobility, (something these two champions have TONS of, a phenomenon called overloading) you likely won't have much fun or make much headway trying to win lane or outplay them by yourself.

On a side note, I also find champion 'minigames' irksome and annoying.

I'm looking at you Bard , Cassiopeia ,Fiora , Nasus ,Skarner <---THIS GUY, Thresh and Veigar .

I can find my own ways to play champions effectively and entertainingly without their kit being disproportionately and forcibly warped around one aspect of their kit (last hit stacking, collection, unique dueling/combat mechanics, etc) under the guise of promoting champion identity and rewarding skill mastery with hugely anomalous and completely ambiguous power curves/spikes that do the exact opposite of what their intended goal is. If Riot really wants to increase champion diversity and identity, they can start by making EVERY champion separate and distinct from ANY other champion, not just MOST champions distinct from SOME champions. Teemo ,Braum , and Xerath/Velkoz are good examples of champions that are secure in the distinction of their identity, theme, and general gameplay from other champions.

Evelynn ,Shaco ,Rengar , and XinZhao /Jax are examples of champions that share very common (perhaps too common) kit dynamics and combat mechanics with a large amount of other champions.
