Nunu's Objective Advantage

It's a little weird for me to say this but I'm using Nunu to climb right now on ladder (at Silver, where no one wards before 2 minutes) and I have to say it's pretty rare that I don't get my first dragon at 4 minutes (because no one wards). That's not the real problem I have though. The problem I have is that it's incredibly difficult, more so than I think is intended, for the enemy team to contest Nunu's dragons. This was fine back when dragon was just global gold but as a stacking buff that is supposed to be very contestable I worry that it might be a problem.

So I was thinking that maybe Nunu's Consume should be affected by Ancient Grudge. (Ancient Grudge is a passive the dragon has that reduces all damage it takes from a champion by 7% per stack of Dragon Slayer it has). I know that Nunu is supposed to be able to outsmite everything but dragon is also supposed to be very contestable and an option for teams to use if they get behind. At my elo I have no trouble grabbing 3 dragons by 17 minutes, baron at 20, then end the game around 30 minutes with 5 dragons and 2 barons. And yes, maybe that is how Nunu is supposed to be played, but removing the largest counter to it (the Ancient Grudge debuff) is kind of unfair. Nunu should be winning games based on skill, positioning, and teamwork (which is how every other champion controls objectives) not because he has a skill that deals 1000 true damage to dragon no matter how many stacks he has.

Want to talk about toxicity and unfun to play against? I've had laners go 0/3, 0/4, 1/5, and we still win easily because they get Dragon Slayer stacks and the other team doesn't. And it seems like contesting the buff is pointless against Nunu because unless you have your whole team and he's soloing it, he's going to outsmite the enemy jungler.

dragon stacks aren't that big of an advantage, and you can take dragon with most junglers at level 3 without much risk if you're blue side and the enemy started at their blue

Yeah even the third dragon's 5% movement buff won't save a losing team. You're 5% faster and you still get demolished in teamfights, you know? I've stopped going for dragon, period, until we've already won map control. There's no point in the first two buffs. My time and resources are much more valuable snowballing lanes and counterjungling.

If you're winning with this strategy, you were likely going to win anyways, with the exception being Baron buff.

To be fair he has one of the worst late games in the game. He either does no damage, or he gets one snowball off and then dies instantly.

Dragon buff stacks really only matters later in the game. I mean, your ADC has 100 AD, plus the 6% from Dragon, got 106 AD, big difference.
