Held Hostage by One Player Who Loses Lane

I don't know what the devs were thinking but the consequences of all the changes since about mid-patch in Season 8 is that you are feeling less and less powerless to affect the outcome of the game - if there is that one nitwit who (a) does not know how to win his lane; (b) come out even on a lane; or (c) play from behind.

I get that the devs want to have "earned" snowballing in the game. But you are putting in too much stuff to ensure that they keep snowballing (true damage, dark harvest, stacks of whatever) and there is nothing to really remedy it. If you take down a snowballer, then you get a pathetic bounty that only goes on one player - and in the meantime, three towers have crumbled and we have lost a drake and maybe a rift herald.

On top of that, those champions which traditionally have played a role of reducing the impact of snowballers (tank supports like Braum or Tahm; enchanter supports such as Janna, Nami or Soraka) have faced a consistent and repeated series of nerfs over the past season. I am literally ready to throw in the towel. You can have Riot staffers and shoutcasters repeatedly say "best meta ever" when they address the public - but even the Emperor at some point had to realize that his new clothes were not quite what he paid for.
