Client Issues - Black Screen on Sign In/Unable to Play

Just tried signing into the game and I encountered:

A waiting timer telling me that I had over a minute to wait.
On getting past that point, I saw either: a) a black screen with just the exclamation telling us that server transfers were on hold - nothing else was visible OR b) I got into the main client but there were exclamation points besode each of the game modes. c) an error message saying that an unexpected error had occurred and told me to re-sign in.

Between this and the critical error bug that still is lurking in the background, it is getting harder to play and enjoy your main game Riot. Can you please let us know what is going on?

Let's all chill. Sometimes things break. Game hasn't had this kind of issue in a long time. It's probably something to due with the release of Clash.

Yes. Same issue.

Following the standard client loading progress bar, I get a notice about a 1 m queue time, then client loads to a black screen. Nothing shows but the gold exclamation point.

UPDATE: Looks like things are back up and running, though I haven't tried to enter a game yet.

Yeah this is getting really ridiculous. I've been using the new client since the Alpha release and it has hardly had its bugs fixed. There are bugs on the client that have been here since its release, almost 3 years, and hasn't been patched one single time. I'm not surprised the client always crashes every other patch now. They honestly need to cut their losses and remake the whole client, because they clearly cannot fix this one.

Having the same exact problem right now, and it wouldn't let me join any queue and my friends list wouldn't pop up too.

Same issue, even reset the pc and still the same black screen, after the music stops it saws there was an error with the login or something and then closes itself...

Same Issue. It also seems to be triggering small log in queues. Client is also not really closing properly

So I waited until the music finished, and more stuff showed up. But it's still broken.

UPDATE 10:41 PM CST: ran hextech repair tool, enabled force patching or whatever, killed all processes, restarted client. logged in fine, went straight to patching, works now.
