Is nasus going to get any buffs?

he has been below average for the entire season and he could use a buff not a big one but a small one

Nasus is pretty balanced imo. The only thing I can possibly think of is to have his ULTIMATE scale dmg with HP or AD , but that would nerf AP nasus in ARAMs.

I honestly think NASUS is in a really good spot ATM though

thats why i said small buff and the good champions atm are carries/lane bullies so nasus isnt going to do very well unless you get alot of ganks

he's below average because people don't know how to baby sit him, care for your Nasus early game, give him lots of ganks and late game (if he's decent) you'll be fine

as Nasus just tower hug most of the time get a stack back, get a stack back

he's not doing to well now because of some "newer champion"s with high harass that can push him out of lane for a whole 12 seconds, damaging him and making him miss cs, and when he comes back it happens all over again

Nasus' win rate is declining because of several soft nerfs (indirect nerfs) and the rise of other champions and heavier CC comps.

TL;DR: Nasus has been harmed indirectly with the mastery changes and several nerfs to core items in his builds. All these nerfs have been incremental.

I think a lot of champions that sit around 50% win rate for years across several seasons that only receive modest changes are good indicators of game health. When these champions' win rates drop too low or too high, it suggests that there is some type of larger balance issue.

The "soft nerfs" to Nasus since Fall of last year include:

  1. The lowering of tenacity of item 3111 from 35% to 20% (now it is 30%)
  2. The mastery changes - Most of the changes from the tank tree has hurt Nasus' early game. This is "the big" soft nerf.
  3. Most of other top laners benefit from Keystones more than Nasus does. Stormraiders, Grasp, and Strength of the Ages, are currently the best ones for Nasus, but most of them are better on other champions relative to Nasus.
  4. The nerf to grasp
  5. The rise in the cost of potions and removal of mana pots
  6. The removal of crystalline flask
  7. Repeated nerfs to item 3110 (mostly the armor reduction and rise in cost). item 3025 has replaced this item, but it too has been nerfed because EVERYONE was building it.
  8. The weakening of towers which made games faster. Games would end before Nasus could scale, but the slight buffs to towers has mostly reverted this issue
  9. The nerfs to item 3512, item 3053, item 3075, and item 3742
  10. The buffs to items such as item 3071, which is very strong at the moment on a lot of top laners. This, however, is not an item that he builds.
  11. Early armor penetration builds - most of Nasus' early itemization armor, CDR, and mana. He doesn't build health early so he is more vulnerable to these builds than other top laners.
  12. Mages are seeing more play since the Mage update. Mages have more CC than assassins. Prior the update, AD assassins saw more play, which were easier for Nasus to handle
  13. All movement speed nerfs - the removal of ANY type of mobility has harmed him. Nasus needs mobility to dodge skill shots since he is easily kited. The repeated nerfs to item 3009 and the removal of tier 3 enchantments has probably harmed him
  14. The buffs to item 3068. This is NOT an item that Nasus builds because it shoves the wave too much. However, every top laner was building it for awhile (some still do) and it dealt a lot of damage mixed damage to Nasus. It made his itemization against that item harder since he had to consider magic and ad damage if he was building resistances.

This isn't to say that Nasus has only been directly harmed. There are plenty of items in the game that have been buff that have helped him.

Soft "buffs"

    • The changes to item 3065 has made this the best item in the game for Nasus outside of item 3057 and its build paths.
    • item 3078 buffs have helped him marginally
    • The lowered cost of item 3026 has benefited him.
    • The buffs to item 3143.
    • Rift Herald is a great objective and he has largely benefited from its inclusion in the game.

Their may be other soft buffs I have missed, but the accumulation of soft nerfs to his itemization path and changes to the masteries has really harmed.

he is balanced no need to get him crazy again maybe bring the other guys down from op to balanced instead of ruining the game

He doesnt need anything else. A Q that can stack theoretically infinitely seems pretty strong as is. A slow that slows 95% movement speed AND reduced attack speed. And a armour shredding AOE E that scales off of AP. I think hes fine.

I think people knows what Nasus can do. No need to repeat his skills here. Now what exactly is your argument for not buffing Nasus again? :)

(just dropping by randomly, not sure why people think repeating the skills of a champ is a valid argument)

InfernoFøx1 votes

Giving description helps realize his kit and how strong he is. He doesnt need a buff because hes been the same for so long. People just know how to play against him. So we dont need to make him stronger because people know how to counter him.

I know I'm going a bit off topic here but...

You are contradicting yourself a bit here.

  • He's been the same for so long
  • People know how to play against him

So basically people already know his kit, which mean repeating it here is really redundant. On top of that, how are these points you mentioned clarify there's no need to buff Nasus? I'd even say those points are rather pointing more towards him needing a buff instead of leaving him alone.

InfernoFøx1 votes

LOL. Dude, hes strong. But people know how to play against him. So unless you make him broken as hell, people will still know how to play against him and win lane. If you cant win lane because they know how to play against your champion, it doesnt mean they need a buff.

Clearly you're missing my point here. I wasn't even talking about whether Nasus needed a buff or not. I started this discussion only because people seem to think typing their whole kit here somehow is an argument to show a champ should be buffed / nerfed.

But since you can't seem to follow me, let's just rest this case :). They don't teach kids how to have a proper discussion nowadays :(

Man, when he gets rollin, you can't stop the Big Dog. He's fine

Have you actually ever tried AP Nasus? 600 Q stacks + 900 AP is pretty sick.
