There's no reason to show that you're pinging your allies' summoners, items or ults. None.

The option to ping pretty much everything, was a cute little novelty. But honestly, really think about it. What benefit is it to show the entire team that you're pinging their ultimate? None. If you click an ally's summoner/ult/item it should just be for you and you alone. There's no benefit to this option. All people ever use these for is one thing. Spamming something you don't like on your ally.

Your ally has heal up and you died? Ping the heal summoner 50 times. Your ally has a build that YOU think is odd and troll? You ping it 20 times. You think that they should have ulted that losing 2v5? You ping spam their ult while you're dead. I can go on and on and on about how pointless this option is, but you get the point.

Fine, you genuinely want to ping your ally's ultimate to see what the cooldown for it is, cool. It should only show up on your screen. Or anything you ping on your ally.

The only benefit to pinging your ally's item/ult/summoner is that you know who's raging the hardest.

Its a lot faster to just ping an ally ability before you go in rather than typing in chat telling them to be ready to use it when necessary.

Idc how other people use it, its a quick and important communication method.

Lol, I support this as a Gangplank Main. Nothing more annoying to get spam pinged, cuz I didn't Ult to support my ADC in the Jungle against fed and full HP Rengar.

Actually you're quite wrong. There is a very good reason you should be able to do this and that is quickly spreading information someone might not have seen on their own. Let's say some people on your team were trying to start a fight, but your playmaker's huge ult wasn't up and they didn't realize it, you ping the ult. What if someone wants to do baron but you don't have a smite up but they don't realize, you ping the smite. It's more a learning tool for people who don't know how to read the information available to them, but even at high ranks everyone's human, everyone makes mistake, and anyone could not realize a crucial piece of information that you took notice of.

You didn't at all read the whole thing. ._. Because your statement doesn't at all apply to anything I said.

Your comment has nothing to do with it. Read what was written. Was there anything that said about pinging your own items? Or your own ult? Or your own summoners? No. I specifically stated that showing the entire group that you're pinging your 'ally's' items/summoners/ult is pointless and only leaves it open for ping spams.

There's nothing in that post at all that says anything about pinging your own. So therefore, your post has nothing to do with mine.

Did you..read my post? My post is about how pinging stuff on your team DOES have potential use, and shouldn't be removed. What in the world gave you the idea my post was only about YOUR OWN stuff....? ", but your playmaker's huge ult wasn't up and they didn't realize it, you ping the ult. " Please show me where in that sentence I say YOU specifically. Because it looks to me like I worded it specifically to mean NOT YOU. Try again lol.

The problem is that we can't ping anything now, even our own items etc.I do ping my own items to highlight to my team what I'm doing, building etc.... or at least, I did. I would.

Pinging ally sums can be important e.g letting team know our jungle doesn’t have smite

Sounds like, someone forgot to ult in a fight and got called out for it. :)

On a serious note yes it does have a use, it's much quicker to ping out a CD for your team to help them realize it might not be a good idea to start that 5 on 5 baron fight. Or telling your team your split pushing top doesn't have a TP up to help out or will have it up by time you get to an objective or something. It makes everyone on your team immediately aware of said key CDs. Where as only some people might be looking at other things on the map.
