Best Top Lane Carry

DragonManSquid··4 votes·17,411 views

I posted a couple hours asking which bruisers people thought were the best, a few people told me I should play a carry. Their reasoning was that I wouldn't improve playing simple champions. So I've decided to have one carry champion in my top lane champion pool. I'm only learning one because I want to master them, no just be ok. So which top lane champ should I learn? And how long would it take to become really good with them? These are a few I'm considering Gangplank Riven Fiora

Gangplank Depends on how well you can triple barrel honestly. Anyone can Q and run away and just keep doing that but you need to have 5 star barrel synergy or it's a waste to play him. His ult is also good to pick off people but again if the kills do go to you and not say the adc if you do ult bottom and you don't have the mechanics to really play GP effective it's a waste of your time unless you do put in the time.

Riven Really GOOD!!! but at the same time really RISKY!! pick here. If behind she normally stays behind as she needs items to be effective to carry. Passive opponents/tanks/this meta currently will just play passive and be more of a factor in teamfights( NORMALLY not always) later down and not focus on just the lane phase but other parts of the game. You will need to splitpush effective but depending on what elo you're in it might not be great to pick a heavy split push champion. Considering in the lower elos people want to teamfight 24/7 and don't know what "Play safe, I'm splitpushing right now" once the enemy team sees the 4v5 advantage they will ping you ?????????????????????????????????? nonstop because they are dead and you are alive but you didn't show for the fight. Not to mention Riven she's one of the "toxic" club where you might not be toxic but people see a bad Riven that dies often or just gives up first blood they will instantly say "gg" and think the game is over so just be doing poorly at starts of games will INT your team right at the start.

Fiora Out of the 3 I would say she will most likely be the best overall in the long run of things.

Time it takes you to master them is all on you and your ability to just practice and learn from each game, some people take 3 years to learn a champion while others take 1 game.

Nothing dumber than a fed Riven

Gangplank He can abuse the latest patch's buffed lethality(so does Riven yea) and he is also the least likely to get nerfed.

Okay let's see.

Gangplank is a ton of fun, and he has an amazing lategame. But he requires a good amount of mechanical skill and knowledge. He's not the type of champion you want to be blind picking. Gangplank is the kind of champion you pick into certain matchups.

Riven... I wouldn't recommend her to anyone but the people who want to learn her. She's not an easy champion, and has a bad reputation. She's really strong at every stage of the game, but only if she's snowballing.

Fiora is probably the best pick here. She's not an easy champion, but easier than the other two. She has bad matchups, but is a safer blind pick than the other 2.

Darius if you're in low elo.

Kennen if you're facing 5 squishies who want to be the carry and refuse to be the tank for the team.

Jayce do it only if you're immune to the trashtalk from your lane opponent.

I guess darius doesn't need a mention anymore since you have to sacrifice a ton of tank and go fervor to make up for the NM nerf.

I might be bias but I find Fiora to be the best to carry regardless of the situation.

They are tanky with armor = black cleaver with true damage mix and self healing

They are squishy = triforce with hydra and you can burst faster than a freaking veigar

They deal huge burst damage with CC = just riposte

They deal high sustained damage = you outheal it so you don't care

They deal a lot of magic damage = the combination of spirit visage and Maw solves all your problem

They deal a lot of physical damage = Ninja Tabi and Deadman's plate means you'll move faster while taking no damage from them.

I will say though that Fiora is not the easiest champ to pick up. It took me quite a while but so far I've moved from gold III to Plat II this season on pretty much her alone. Also you can stack fervor extremely quickly with autos and your Q so that your passive starts dealing ridiculous amounts of damage since it now adds AD vs. just being an on hit damage.

How long is a while? And what is some neat stuff you can do with fiora that you can do with her that you couldn't do with others?

Out of those three, Fiora is the hardest to master and the also the most versatile. Riven is probably the hardest to pick up and has just a few hard match ups. Gangplank requires deep understanding of the champion pool match ups and good map awareness and reflexes.

In my opinion if you're new to the game I would try mastering Darius & Pantheon before learning any of those three.

But if your set on learning one. I'd Pick Fiora.
