WOW knows how to treat cheaters. How bout that, Riot. I don't think they have TRIBUNAL.

This is what WOW does when it catches cheaters. 100,000 accounts banned for six months in one swoosh of the scythe. Snatched the souls from modders and scripters. I guess it did take them a while to catch them though.

Why do people keep talking about China?

There's a few differences here.

  • WoW is a sub based game. Getting banned is a much larger than deal than some troll/cheater getting some banned from their 2nd/3rd account.
  • People get banned all the time on this game. We just don't really see the numbers. These 100k bans are probably more about scaring cheaters than actually banning them.
  • These bans probably took a lot of testing. I doubt it was as simple as detecting a 3rd party program. They exist to hide. They could find out someone is a little too good at interrupting. Find a change in their own code they could make that would hurt their 3rd party program. Then see if their reaction time changes an obvious amount. I doubt they did this every time or anything like that. But WoW records a lot more info from your game than LoL does. They'll know every path you've taken. League doesn't even know what was said in champ select.

This overall states it. As I posted above. This is more a scare tactic than proof they're handling cheaters better than Riot.

Wouldn't it make more sense for punishment to be more swift on LOL because people have multiple accounts? They should be getting banned so much people are afraid to say the word troll.

Most of what people consider trolling isn't something to ban over.

And I doubt Riot would really go out of their way to say how many people just got banned. They're already known as a toxic game to a lot of people. They don't want to remind us. I don't think the scare tactic would work here. Many trolls who are ragers think everyone else is the troll.

That is am opinion that Riot unfortunately agrees with you on. Trolling is anything that s deliberately detrimental or counter productive to your team attempt at winning. If you farm the "whole" game, fake engage enemies only to run when allies come to help, watch allies being killed from a distance where you could have helped. Doing nothing is one. Constant feeding. Talking is not troll. I don't care if a guy says suck a dick. I'll ignore it. For a game am not allowed to leave, chat problems are something falls low on my priority. Things that waste the game are high on the troll scale. But I am from a different generation than this, so I already know that my views are the opposite of common views of late.

What I want is for Riot to put them on a "No Priority Que". They click play, are told they are in que, and are left there.

If by a while you mean ~5 years, then yes it took them a while.

5? lol, bots have been in WoW since the beginning. If you include anti-afk bots would be 10 years. I know people that have been botting since vanilla and haven't been banned once, that's common.

That being said, WoW bots are FAR less harmful compared to scriters in LoL. I guess interrupt bots and rotation scripts are bad in WoW, but they're far fewer in numbers. In fact, most people predict if WoW banned all the bots in WoW the economy would completely collapse. That's why they ban so few bots each wave. It's more of a show than anything else.

The particular bot program that's use resulted in the bans the OP is talking about took 5 years to crack. That is why I said 5.

HB? Rebot is using this opportunity to promote lol. Tough to tell if HB was figured out. It was really detectable in terms of gameplay, just too hard for warden to pin down. If they did, congrats to Blizzard. That being said, botting will never die. It's the unfortunate part of MMOs.

Tribunal is for chat-related punishments. Cheating/hacking is an entirely different thing (and Riot does deal out punishments on those too.)

China is a disgusting place where political prisoners have their organs harvested for commie party officials.

The fact that this company does business with them is horrible.

When is world war 4?
