Is Maining/Climbing w/ Pusher Yorick...

...a doable thing for me?

I love playing Yorick. I fucking love it. To no end. But I never do, regardless of how good [or bad] I actually am with him solely because I'm afraid I'll fight a Plat5 Yasuo and go 0/3 by 5, and therfor be unable to fulfill my desire of watching towers crumble before me, or I'll crush lane and get first tower... only to have my team throw.

Yeah. 30-game loss streaks aren't fun.

Anyway, is it viable and in fact a good idea to mainly play Yorick and go fulfill my lifelong dream of bashing the fucking shit out of towers, inhibitors, and finally the Nexus? Can I carry my way out of this hellhole, that way? It's not challenging here, in B3, it's boring and at times frustrating, and so I want to know.

If the answer is yes... "Fear not. I'll make use of your corpse."

P.S: My KDA on Yorick is not too reflective. I never feed, but I never build for combat either - I build to split-push and annihilate towers and objectives. Yorick, to me, is the perfect champion, for me.

If you feel that way about Yorick, spam Yorick, get good at Yorick, climb with Yorick. You should learn to be consistant though, if you're gonna one trick a champion, you better know how to go atleast EVEN into all the matchups you can get, or know which ones you should dodge.

Since you're bronze, I'd look up some guides on Wave controll, because that shit is pretty important for a Splitpush champion and Toplane in general.

I'm plenty aware of freezing waves @ my tower or theirs and well, wave control and timing in general. To be fair though, I always somehow manage to place the Zz'rot AS the creeps walk by and not after...

I know I'm not Bronze, but at the same time who would really care much about that when I am in Bronze regardless?

EITHER way, I'm more asking if he's a capable carry in a game. I may find it fairly odd that people ask me to play this like a solo game when it's in fact 5v5, but that doesn't change that sometimes your Brand wants to go 0/7/1 by 5 to Kat.

Oh, and Yorick's counters include but are not limited to: anyone with great wave clear and okay or better dueling potential. Sion

Well Yorick can't teamfight for shit, but you need to recognise the moments you need to teamfight.

Also make sure to communicate with your team. If you're splitpushing toplane, and the enemy team sends 2-3 people to come and deal with you, make sure your team is in a position where they can take an objective, be it a Dragon, a tower or Baron, while the enemy team is killing you. If they send 2-3 people top, make sure your team is ready to engage the 4v2/3. Otherwise, you're just suiciding.

So yes, Yorick is able to win games, and ''carry'' them if you want to put it that way. But make sure you don't just die for no reason, because that's how you lose a game.

Another thing, you want to try and close the game before 30 minutes. Yorick falls off pretty hard.

Need to teamfight? Only if they're pushing your T3 down. That's all I can think of. Otherwise, your time is better spent tearing at theirs.

Also, does he? I thought towers don't scale upwards that much. I mean, that WILL be my main and possibly only goal; Destroy towers, inhibitors, and their nexus.

Either way, know of anyone else possibly really good at destroying towers and is, in general, not someone you 1v1?

Imagine a scenario.

The enemy team is setting themselves up for Baron, your team wants to go there to contest it. You have a fed MF or something.

Do you really think taking a tier 2 tower in botlane while the enemy takes Baron is better than being with your team, using your baby cage to keep the enemy Darius away from your MF, and being a moving meatwall? If you help your team win that fight, you can take a baron and potentially push for a win. If you give up the baron you might give up the game.

I'm just painting a scenario here, but there are moments where split pushing won't be the best call, even for Yorick, you need to recognise those moments.

There's no use in taking an inhibitor if the enemy is taking your nexus :P

Yorick can still take towers, ofcourse, but a Splitpusher needs to be able to 1v1 whoever comes to deal with him, and a lategame Yorick is way more likely to get 1v1'd than a midgame Yorick.

Other good splitpush champions that are great in 1v1 scenarios? Tryndamere, Jax, Fiora, Camille come to mind.

I recently lost to my first Yorick in bronze.

I beat him early game. But he got Tammy enough that we couldn't stop his splitpush effectively with out communication. We won many teamfights, but he was just really effective with his persistence.

Not saying it would always work. But it worked then. And one-tricks are a thing.

In the current sate, no. Unfortunately, Zz'Rot Portal got it's ass sent to the Shadow Realm of items, so it isn't a good item. Banner of Command got buffed, but it isn't enough.

Now, however, you CAN split push as Yorick, you just have to build none of the split push items, with a weird, reverse thinking suck-fest. Never the less, you can. Death's Dance is a really good item on Yorick since it allows him to heal off of damage dealt by his ghouls. Black Cleaver also procs off of his ghouls, so they can shred armor and such. Trinity Force helps you push some towers a good bit and provides him with some much needed CDR, with goes to 40% with Black Cleaver. Sterak's Gage is an... ok item, but only worth buying AFTER you buy Trinity Force. Defensive items are needed, so Spirit Visage, Dead Man's Plate, Sunfire Cape, and Warmog's Armor are all decent picks.

So yeah, to summarize, you can split push Yorick but all of the split push items stink too much currently to BUILD him like one.

I've noticed. Maybe if they make item 3512 like 30 Armor/Resist and 25 AD + 300 HP, it'll be worth buying? Or maybe if they make the passive completely ignore the turret damage resistance since people are so fast to find the portal anyway. Or both?

item 3060 is fairly simple; Add unique interactions. Allow you to promote, say, a Yorick ghoul or a Heim turret.

If you enjoy playing the champion, go ahead. I see no reason why you shouldn't. If your team feeds harder than OCD baker, you can still win the game, since the game is won through objectives, not kills.

Also, Zz'rot isn't the best on Yorick, since his health regen isn't the greatest, and it doesn't give you much in the way of tank stats. Trinity Force is actually pretty good as a first item buy for split-pushing. The AS and damage bonus passive, make taking turrets pretty easy.

Doesn't Zz'rot's active scale on the max health and not the health regen? Also, I'm 100% sure Yorick's base health regen is one of the highest in the game, anyway. He may not be first on the chart but considering how many champions have less than 21/5s at Lv18, he's pretty far up there.

Either way, the armor and resist from Zz'rot (110 totaled) isn't bad compared to other items, when compared to the price, but you're right in that it does give NOTHING else which makes it pointless to get for Yorick. Yorick needs AD/HP and not Armor/Resist.

It's not quite that high (8 @lv.1 and 21.6 @lv.18) but still high enough to make buying it worthwhile. It's definitely on the higher side, and gives him a very convenient health return for the times where it's not safe to Q. If you're looking to power-up your Q early on then it is not an item you want to buy early, though.

I'm also bronze, but I'm thinking something like item 3068 , item 3078 or item 3025 , item 3071 vs ad match ups

He's a good splitpusher, but not the best. Not very mobile and doesn't deal a lot of damage when his R isn't on hand, but the huge sustain and really good self-peel with his W generally make up for it. Most splitpushers don't absolutely crush their lanes as hard as Yorick does, which is also a generous net-positive re. picking him.
