Is there a support that enables melees like current supports enable marksmen?

Is it possible Riot has been looking at adc's from the incorrect angle as to why only marksmen make good adc's?

Currently most meta supports heavily enable ranged champions by covering their weaknesses, I don't think there is a support that can cover a Juggernauts weaknesses like they can a marksmen. Yasuo was originally designed to be a melee adc and was given tools to be self sufficient against ranged champions which I think is where things went wrong to try and force him into bot lane.

Why would he if he doesn't need a support to function.

HOWEVER

Meta ADC's are not self sufficient, and are enabled by their support heavily, justifying their insane scaling. Current supports do not have the same synergy with melee carries as they do with ranged ones, there are technicalities to that statement but on the whole marksmen have the highest synergy with current supports with the best pay off for having it.

So let's make a support champ designed to enable Juggernauts (as an example):

  • Throws Champs toward an enemy Kalista R or Ivern Q

  • Temporary Tenacity/Movepseed Boon Garen Q+W after melee champion is struck by ranged attacks

  • Temporary protection against max % hp damage like item 3153 make this an ability or an item

  • Temporary Projectile absorption or reflection like Yasuo W or a Fiora W that redirects based on cast direction

I specifically did not note/add CC because it is universally strong against everyone and I do not want to add/focus utilities that ranged champions can exploit as much as anyone else. Imagine Nasus farming bot lane having a support deflect ranged attacks, or Darius getting thrown into the fray, enabling them in ways that only benefit champions like them and specifically not having synergy with ranged champions.

I know this idea is a little out there, so before you smash that dislike button take a moment to have a thought experiment of your own.

Aside from Taric, Sejuani is a good template for what a "melee carry" support should do.

-Can safely take the hits for her lane partner, negating the initial slows. -Has CC that relies on a melee ally to stack, but it incredibly powerful in exchange. -Excellent lock-down and initiation capabilities. -An incredibly powerful optimal use case for her abilities(5 seconds of near continuous stun on a single target).

Taric's a king at fighting alongside juggernauts and other CC machines. On health stackers his W will give them an extra 500-ish health every few seconds, and the stun link helps them both stick to targets. If him and a tank stick together and keep his Bravado procs going they become borderline unkillable.

Me and a friend love duoing with Taric/Olaf, nothing escapes :P

not like lulu's ult exists for the main purpose of turning every assassin/diver into a tank ;-)

Blitzcrank and Thresh are both very good with any ADC. Yasuo and Mordekaiser included.

Its called heavy engage. Thresh can not only pull enemies closer, but also allies. He hard counters jumps and dashes with his E, and if your on top of an enemy..... say hello to a 99% slow ultimate.
