Proper way to rework Yasuo

Bultz··2 votes·582 views

You don't. It's already bad enough you are changing him for the lower elo of the game, that right after admitting he trails behind other champions and state that only the people who put in the effort are good with him and will be rewarded by having their time wasted. The way this is inevitably going to go down is;

  1. You don't change much, he remains awesome, but the unskilled players of this game come on to still complain. He will remain banned, hated, and never see play either way because who would have thought adding more bans to the game would cause the mob mentally of "we don't like it so it has to go" to take place.

  2. You fuck up and you fuck up really bad. He ends up another failed rework, of which only WW was a success, and he ends up clunky, useless, under performing, and with you ruining the best champion this game offers. He has the smoothest kit. He is probably the most loved champion, don't let the boards fool you, he is the most loved.

Basically you fail either way. The only thing this will amount to is you screwing over committed Yasuo players. Me personally? I hope you fuck him up and become super fucking hated. That is what you really deserve for literally going against your own words of not changing champions around low elo.

The funny thing:

Azir gets a mini rework because he's oppressive to lane against for the minority of players (high elo) and both possible changes are straight up nerfs, nobody cares.

Yasuo gets a mini rework because he's frustrating to lane/play against for the majority (see banrate) in lower elo, you guys go apeshit crazy.

Ralanr2 votes

The more popular champion gets a bigger reaction. I don't see the comedy.

Lauchmelder3 votes

The comedy lies in Yasuo getting a change. Azir's getting nerfed yet again.

Basically: People complain about Yasuo getting changed while keeping his power, nobody bats an eye that Azir gets nerfed yet again.

Ralanr2 votes

Except most people are considering that these are either reworks to better shift their power, or just straight nerfs.

Radiant Seraph2 votes

I agree with you in that Yasuo mains are overreacting to Yasuo's rework, but you have to understand that Azir's rework is also needed. He'll be nerfed in some aspects, but Riot will compensate in other areas, like his DPS, as they already said.

Lauchmelder1 votes

Don't think that I don't understand that Azir needs the rework. He's in desperate need of one considering they're keeping him down on purpose.

Radiant Seraph1 votes

Then don't say that the rework would be a straight nerf, because they don't usually do that.

There is a huge difference between Yasuo and Azir. Previous Azir use to build item 3115 and have insane speed with it. Adding to that the pre-reworked item 3116 and you have someone who is a mage adc who busts you with the speed of an adc. He had no counter play. His turrets/soldiers weren't kill-able. He had enormousness range and was very versatile. He was near unbeatable.

Meanwhile Yasuo is punished anytime he goes in as he is close range not long range like Azir. He has the most counters in game as any form off CC stops him. Even slows stop him from being able to use his ultimate attack. He can literally be stunned and evaporated. He is crap for a good 20 minutes of the game. The ban rate is purely do to low elo players not knowing how to play against him or not willing to learn.

Azir was destroying in all elos, Yasuo was doing barely well in low elo with only super skilled players making it further. They have no reason to rework Yasuo aside from complaining bronze-silver players. Thats not an insult thats is just fact. 50% win rate, huge number of counters, requires skill and timing. That is why people are mad about Yasuo and not Azir. Azir is crap right now by all rights, but before that, he was uncounterable.

No, you're talking about Yasuo as if he's Master Yi (outside of the part where you talk about slow).

While Yasuo is not literally broken like Azir, he still has many questionable designs. The most egregious designs in his kit is the windwall that is both way too strong for a normal spell and is very non-transparent about what can or can not go through and neither is the list consistent at all, which is then followed by his Q spam that all follows the old Nid problem where it is less about actually landing the damn thing but about an inevitability of being hit by it due to the lack of drawback for missing while the reward for hitting is too great. There are other eyebrow-raising designs in his kit, but we can ignore them for the time being when talking about the biggest problem in his kit, though he really needs his base tweaked if they really want to keep the double-crit.

Until Riot at least addresses those 2 major big elephants in the room (and maybe play around with his base AD), Yasuo can not be a design that isn't utterly frustrating to play with and against.

But he is the pure form of a poorly created champion. His got a ton of issues for so many people and his whole kit is unhealthy.

In what way. Use your facts. Lets hear them.

Kloqdq1 votes

Any champion that needs to be trash tier bad to be balanced is not a good champion. He has loads of mobility, stat checks everywhere playing to tons of damage. He isn't fun to play against and even less so when he is good. He snowballs and after a couple of items just stat checks you with AAs. His on the same level as Azir for unhealthy champion design. Too much, needs to be nerfed to the dirt to be balanced making him bad.

I'm not saying Yasuo is op or godly. He is bad. Like probably one of the worst champions. But god damn he is just anti-fun to play against unless you are the yasuo or a good counter.

Umm okay, now trying using facts and not personal opinions. Numbers, charts, anything will do. Let's see it.

Every champion is unfun to play against. But again I want logic, what have you done to counter him? What builds are you using to fight him? Champions?

Kloqdq1 votes

The champion has almost unlimited dashes, 100% crit, 50% armor pen., a shield, and a way to block projectiles. He has a strong flow of damage (auto-attack cancels, keep on enemies, etc) and can be super oppressive in lane for a lot of champions. He snowballs hard and is super strong mid to late. A vast majority of the player base clearly doesn't like him by the repeated hate piled on him.

Personally I don't care about him. His a bad champion that is countered by nearly every champion. Any top lane crushes him and mid laners can either pick an assassin or just pick poke to push him out. Darius, Riven, Fizz, Zed, LeBlanc, Syndra, etc are all good champions that are popular and counter him. And I beg to differ by every champion being unfun to play against. A well made champion can have an interesting lane and be fun to play against. Yasuo can be in the same vain as Azir as oppressive and anti-fun.

His a poorly done champion because of what his kit does and was always doomed to be in this position. He needs a rework. It's as simple as that. His fun to play sure but that's at the cost of everyone else's enjoyment.

He Does not have unlimited dashes for one. If you choose to stand in a huge minion wave at melee range, that s poor positioning and gameplay. He has 90% crit damage. At that with 3 items he is still barely doing 300-400 damage per hit, which most champions are around the 600-700 damage range. He get s armor pen with him ult, after having his crit set up, literally a 15 minute process at which point he his in mid game and is supposed to start to comeback from his early game. He can block projectiles for 4 seconds. If you are that bad that you can't step through or wait 4 seconds thats you m8. Almost all adc have a strong flow of damage. The only champions he is oppressive to are who counters. Just like when he gets shot on by top laners. He only snow balls if you have no counters or feed him beyond belief, both being results of your gameplay. Only low elo hate on him. Everyone else in high elo has figured out the game.

You can't tell me he is crap, then tell me he needs the rework which will make him more crap.

He is the best champion in the game. His kit is exactly what it needs to be.

Best champion in the game?

No, that's Sion my friend.

Though in seriousness, you do have a point in his lack of argument as he's basing it more on opinion. But you're also very guilty of that yourself with how biased your posts tend to be.

Maybe if you stopped insulting people who annoy you, bashing others for their lack of skill leading to Yasuo being nerfed (really you don't have much of a good stance to mock bronze when you are unranked. Not that rank shaming ever helps arguments) and took a more neutral stance on the subject (maybe even list counters and tips calmly about how to fight Yasuo) you might be taken more serious.

As for me "insulting" people, it's not an insult, it's straight fact. They lack the skill to play. Bronze players are bronze for a reason. That isn't insulting, it's true. I am unranked because I don't like ranked games. I win 3 games with an s, next 4 games my team feeds 4 minutes in and I am trapped losing because of it. That shouldn't be how ranking work on a win/lose bases. they should be based on individual skill, but that wont happen. If you find the fact that I tell people they are bad as an insult that is your own view. What am I suppose to tell the bronze 4 player coming on the forums screaming to change Yasuo because the bronze 4 player got stopped by a smerf. He is bad and his opinions isn't right as he is lacking knowledge. I was there, I moved up and learned the game. simple as that.

Ralanr2 votes

You either explain what he can do, or ignore him.

You don't have to tell everyone who is bad that they are bad. Nor should you resort to that as a core point in your argument (a side point sure, but not a core point) because it's an easy way to just assume you have nothing to actually say.

People won't listen to the opinion of an unranked player who tells them they are bad. They don't even listen to diamond players who say it.

It doesn't help your argument, it just makes you look like an asshole.

Agree ^ Sion is one of the best champions.

Best champion in the game? You are such a yasuo main it hurts me. I have no problem with yasuo, I am just listing reasons why people dislike him. Hell I enjoy to play him but I know that unless you are a yasuo, a yasuo counter or a person with a good yasuo on your team, you are not enjoying yourself. He'll never be desired by high elo because his too easy to shit on. He'll be banned in low elo because even a bronze 5 can carry with him.

Just because the champion is weak doesn't mean his healthy. Teemo is a pain to play against but his terrible. Fizz makes people rip their hairs out but his easy to beat the higher you go. The purpose of these reworks are to rebalance low elo/causals WHICH IS THE MAJORITY OF THE GAME, and also make the champion a viable option for high elo and pro scene.

Ryze was tweaked to be playable for low and pro. More champions are getting more high skill floors to really add depth for pros and high elo to learn and use. Azir, Sol, Tayliah, and a vast majority of other champions are all joining to get the same treatment. Yasuo is a problem for the majority and forgotten by the minority. Bringing him into a light that lets both player bases use him is what they want.

Also call me bronze all you want but that doesn't change what I am saying. Yasuo is a poorly done champion with issues and Riot knows this. Riot wants to change it. You need just need to come to realize that he has problems. He isn't perfect.

Sion and Poppy say hi. And Yasuo is certainly(T) not the best champion in the game.

Both sucked, they barely counter people who they are meant to. I have seen 1 good sion player in all of my games and maybe 2 good poppys.

The proper way to rework him is to remove him from the game.
