Baron and Dragon Extreme Snowballing

Back in season 4, dragon and baron gave gold, and gold+stats (including regen), respectively. This meant that if you lose consecutive dragons and barons, its still possible to come back if you get gold from elsewhere or don't need gold. Waveclear being equally effective at all times in the game means that defending teams that are down still can win through a teamfight where they turn around a tower dive and ace/near ace the other team. This means that the winning team still has to outplay the losing team to win. On the other hand, a losing team that manages to steal a baron turns the game around because they not only have combat stats but also have increased regen to turtle more effectively, and the longer a game goes on, the less and less that early lead matters.

Now, that is not possible, because a team that's ahead can snowball its vision advantage such that dragon and baron are never safe. Once baron is secured, it is nearly impossible to lose if you are ahead because side lanes will constitute inhib threats even if its just the support splitpushing, and the recall time means that disengages are easier. Meanwhile, because regen is removed, baron on a losing team means much less because the aura doesn't help you except to stall out enemy waveclear, and it still leaves you vulnerable to getting poked. Dragon on losing teams also means much less than on winning teams thanks to percent increase bonuses instead of flat gold.

15% minion/turret damage (and double) is broken.

Baroned minions are bullshit and cannons outrange turrets so you can camp all the day long.

As many said, fire their balance team.

I think the S4 balance was great. Teams could have multiple ways to come back. Now not so much.

Baron and Dragon got BUFFED and even more one sided, the old dragon was a decent drag buff that didn't affect the game so much and baron used to be important yet not "needed" but now you NEED those to win.

Dragon is meant to be a late game stat, which can make small difference, but still a difference later on in the game. Baron is meant to help close out the game, a team with Baron and smart plays can finish a stalling game, while a stalling team can actually turn things around thanks to the minion buffs.

Why is dragon, a relatively easy objective, supposed to be a late game stat?

Why is it not enough to let everyone just scale off gold and get gold bonuses, so that there can be more back and forth? If a team is still stomping hard, why is there a need for baron aura? Old baron was good enough, they can send someone to splitpush while using 4 to poke the enemy.

It's only easy if a team doesn't pressure it...

no, the objective itself is easy, pressure is a different matter altogether.

With the river crab now in place, it's not as easy as it was. It rewards teams for long term dragon control and punishes teams for lacking dragon control. Baron, as I said before, is meant to help close out a game, it's a big power boost on a short timer. Allowing a team that is able to capture it a chance to finish a deadlocked game. If a team is ahead, there is no point in getting baron, if a team is behind, baron can be too great of a risk to try going after.
