Aren't low risk champions getting too much reward?

Bultz··2 votes·643 views

I play a melee champion, Yasuo. Now if I fuck up with Yasuo, I'm dead, the stuns and cc in this game just flatline me. But I have also played champions like Lux. She is super safe, Has crazy range, does a fair amount of damage, and never has to be in the fight or risk anything. Her ult has huge hit box issues and she risks little. Is it really okay for these champions to reap huge rewards for not risking anything? Lux is an example, but there are many. I played Lux bot lane and I was never safer. I tore bot apart without much effort. I just don't see a line in the sand anymore for champions who are high risk and low risk as both are reaping the same prize.

Is this a joke thread?

Does Lux offer less risk? Yes, ranged champions often are a bit less risky, but that's only if their opponents can't close the gap. If they can then playing a ranged mage suddenly gets a lot more risky.

Yes, but if you choose to leave the proper placement of the champion such as the back line or the turret that is your own fault. Yasuo is either engaging or following up, but he is still on the front line. I'm not asking for nerfs, I'm asking for some sort of difference if I am risking so much more every time, while they get to choose if they should or not.

They can't escape. Yasuo is able to escape with proper use of his E and disengage with his wall. Long range artillery mages usually lack these, and the ones that don't have pretty telegraphed and slow escapes (Ziggs's satchel).

If a mage gets stuck in melee, odds are they will die even if they burn flash. Melee champions are either more durable or have more escapes.

Arguably it could be seen as less risky to play a high mobility melee champion because of all the escapes and defensive mechanics they have.

Lux is a long range champion who specializes in keeping you at long range and the instant you close the gap on her, she just dies. Every champion has their own set of strengths and weaknesses. Yasuo is someone who moves all over the place dodging as many skillshots as possible and outright denying them at times, waiting for the right moment to strike. Lux needs to make sure every one of her skills count otherwise she is really not doing anything while waiting for CDs and if she doesn't burst you down when she does get you then she is just awkwardly watching you regain your HP since she is unable to do much of anything else. Yasuo will hunt you down and keep up the pressure if he doesn't kill you. Just because a champion is low risk doesn't mean they should have no reward and just because a champion is high risk doesn't mean that every single reward they get should be massive

Yes, but right now they are both getting equal reward. Being low risk shouldn't give you as much as being high risk. Simple as that. It's the same problem with long range champions which riot seems ot be working on. They can't have melee skirmisher level stats and rewards if they are long range, so riot is changing items. I just want it to go for all safers, not just ad safers.

And then you just dodge every single part of her kit and make her useless. And jump on her and kill her.

no they aren't. I am now certain that all you want is for Lux to not get ANYTHING and Yasuo to literally get EVERYTHING. Sorry but no. Get the hell out of here.

Because you playing those safers like annie, veigar, and lux has nothing to do with your non biased opinion. Also don't insult me, stick to the subject or don't post here.

the fact that Yasuo gets banned almost every game where as those champions you mentioned rarely get banned should tell u all you need to know about which champion is stronger.

go back to playing ARAM and normals where u belong.

Again stick to the subject, if you feel you are better than me add me in game and we can settle it real quick. Don't post your illogical biased here. Thank you.

Fled? lol she came online while i started a game and was on discord and asked for fight me. I said later like after and I haven't seen her since, but don't be fooled, she is a mage/adc main she knows she had no chance.

illogical biased... he is stating a fact. Yasuo is banned almost every single game while Lux is rarely banned, if ever. You are the one posting illogical biased things here if anyone is

That is because of people banning Yasuo just to ban him and not because he is strong. EIther they got beat down by one or of fed on their team or they are just going with the crowd, either way ban rate does not equal win rate.

yeah, because people are just going to waste bans on something not worth being banned. Also isn't this exactly what you are doing? complaining because a Lux beat you down as Yasuo? winrate means nothing to begin with so you even bothering to use that means you have no idea what you are talking about. People ban champions because they do not want to even bother dealing with him. Champions are banned because they are either oppresive, strong or insanely unfun to play against. People do not just ban champions just for the sake of banning them. Lux not being banned at all pretty much means that everyone would rather play against Lux at any give moment than they rather play against Yasuo

movement speed. mana. cooldown timers.

you're also playing a champion that's a lot harder to play if you're playing yasuo. you cant miss with a basic attack unless you're blind.

Yeah, but lets not pretend skill shots are an issue. If you are risking nothing you shouldn't be rewarded. Sure they have mana, but yasuo was one example, there are plenty of manna users with the same issue of being high risk. Lux never has to leave turret or the back line. All melee and high risk champions have to and most of them are super squishy. You can't tell me it's equal.

Ralanr3 votes

Lux is a backline champion, why should she leave the backline?

Bultz1 votes

exactly, she shouldn't so why is she being rewarded like a frontline high risk champion?

Ralanr2 votes

Because the risk of the game isn't decided by squishy melee champions.

Joxcab5 votes

She's being rewarded like a backline long range mage.

BLACK REALM GOD1 votes

it's not equal. it never was meant to be. you're comparing apples to oranges in a sense.

there are 137 or so champs (i forget the number) and each one has varying degrees of difficulty, varying degrees of damage, varying degrees of resistance, varying degrees of ranges, varying degrees of sizes, etc.

one of the biggest flaws with online competition in gaming is that players want to play a game like chess, but also want to play a game like a tcg where everything is changing and evolving.

while it's true that yasuo is an all or nothing champion lux is not. lux is a maybe sometimes champion. ^_^

Is this opposite day? Cause every champion that has been said to be safe is now being posted as not when they are.

Heya all,

I've been reading everything to catch up and I am going to ask all of you nicely to simmer down. It's one thing to argue and get your point across and another to insult somebody. Knock it off.

Thanks,
