The new triforce made nothing but problems.
I would say just revert the changes.
I would say just revert the changes.
This would make for better discussion if you actually explained what you think its problems are. Is it too strong? Is it unhealthy on a bunch of champions? Is it no longer good on champions it was intended for? Is the problem with its stats, its passives, its recipe, or all three?
Personally, I think the changes to Triforce generally improved it, but the item still has some issues it has had since its release, namely an excessively large spread of stats: if the item just gave a smaller, concentrated set of stats, it would likely be easier to balance, and would be able to feel more powerful without needing as much raw statistical power. The other issue is with its Spellblade passive, which I think should now scale with total AD and have a much lower ratio: originally, Triforce was an item for bruisers who wanted to deal damage without having to build too much actual damage, but after its preseason changes it became an item for AD spellweavers, so mostly damage-focused champions. Trouble is, the passive wasn't changed, and now we have a lot of damage-dealers picking it for its (relatively) free damage, going full tank alongside it and trading off too little for the large amounts of total damage and durability they get to have.

I don't think any of the changes to triforce were truly necessary AT ALL. Most people argue that the crit chance was useless and unneeded, and that is frankly bullshit, any sort of on-hit damage amplification is always great to have, and the early movement speed from building zeal could be highly useful for things like taking early dragons using champions like Udyr and Xin Zhao through the combined usage of their sustain. The AP the sheen gave wasn't confusing to have at all as several of the champions had AP ratios on their ability that provided a small amount of extra oomph, and I honestly believe that riot could have inserted the 10% cdr on sheen and left the AP on triforce without breaking it. Now Triforce has far too much cdr and at times feels like a much shittier black cleaver. One thing I was happy about though was nothing being done to fuck up phage,
Crit on Trinity Force...I remember the days of 1.6K Crits...
All bias aside (I'm an avid player of Gangplank) I think that the current iteration of
was supposed to be an "I got your back man!" To
and
.
and
basically MUST build
. Somewhere in the build, it has to happen. This means that any changes to
either make them OP or weak.
Yet,
,
and
aren't the only champions building this item. These three champions are balanced around
and the power spike it gives. Their power changes depending on how good the item is. The problem here is the champions that ARENT balanced around the existence of Trinity. Specifically
. Yasuo doesn't even have mana and he builds
.
What we need to do is to not make changes to
, but to gut the interaction
and
(especially
, who doesn't use mana) have with it.

These also when building tank. (Except for Corki ofc)
You know what? Sure. Lets revert the trinity changes.
30AD. 20AP 10% crit 200 mana 30% attack speed 250 health 8% MS 10%CDR phage passive spellblade passive.
Hmm... you know, this looks remarkably similar to the current triforce. Its almost as if this item was made for fighters and not one trick ponies...

Current trinity force is pretty close to the first major iteration. the AP actually came from sheen if i recall, and since sheen doesnt have AP anymore, it cant have it. What the current trinity IS, is the old trinity for the most part and not the useless crit trinity that would make yasuo mains and GP one trick ponies salivate over.

yes ap came from sheen and thats why every tf main is still mad about it
its unhealthy on a bunch of champions. nerf those champion.
Riot has been streamlining items stats for their intended users for the past few seasons and Trinity is merely the latest example of that.
