@Riot Karma's Gameplay VS The Reality & Developers Stubborness
> Riot Reav3 > > Hey Hiemal, > > Sorry not trying to ignore you. I was just catching up on some of my old messages. > > The reason I haven't said much personally about Karma is that I haven't talked much with the design team about Karma so I don't want to misrepresent there thoughts on her. She currently isn't a high priority for ChampUp either so she doesn't come up a lot in conversations on out team. > > I can tell you my personal thoughts on Karma though. I think Karma is in a pretty good spot right now. Could she be improved? Sure. But there are many champions in a worse spot then Karma at the moment. At this point there are a lot of players that like new Karma just as there are players that preferred her pre-rework. We would really have to do a full VGU on her to make both parties happy. > > Currently she is in much better shape then a lot of other champions that need a VGU. She sees play in mid and support and has some unique things going on in her kit. > > This isn't to say that LGP will or won't do smaller work on her some day as I can't speak for that team. I can say that outside of her upcoming skin splash art update ChampUp doesn't have any plans for Karma in the near future. > > Probably not the answer you wanted to hear but I thought a answer was better then no answer.
Riot's stance is that Krama is in a great spot right now. A numbers buff determines whether or not a champion is in a good spot right now. A champion can have its entire identity stripped and replaced with the worst rework in League of Legends history, but still be considered in a "good spot right now". Countless number buffs that are added and then removed within a 4-month span over the course of 4 years, is proof that a champion is in a "good spot right now". Having an ability, E+R, already in the game as an item active means a champion is in a "good spot right now". Having a champion who used to be a mage and then have that entire identity stripped to being nothing more than a button mashing shield bot, is proof that a champion is in a "good spot right now". Actively not communicated with your Development team, not working on Karma for 4 years to address any problems or give temporary fixes, and not communicating with Karma players the entire time, is proof that a champion is in a "good spot right now".
Maybe Riot Games should reevaluate what they feel like being in a "good spot right now" on a champion is because it is not when Karma's primary role is a mage and her damage falls off after level six . . . and to be relevant in a match . . . I have to build shield enhancing items to increase the strength on my one ability I spam the entire game after level 6. You know . . . because my damage is non-existent now that I was basically reworked into a support and no longer a battlemage.
An orangutang of moderate intelligence can sit in front of a computer screen and hit two buttons on a keyboard . . . . and number balance a kit. That doesn't mean the kit is very good when the entire length of work you have done on the champion is pitiful. A numbers buff over the course of 4 years, that is later nerfed, is not an example of a champion being in a "good spot right now". It is an example of a Development team not caring about a champion for the past 4 years and using time and other champions as an excuse for not doing ANY compensation work done on her. You know you stripped her of her identity, gameplay as a mage, kit, theme, shield bomb, and much more . . . and what do you do? Buff the numbers on a kit that is not making her in a "good spot right now".
As always stay frosty.
