I hear a lot about what champs are unfun to play against. I want to know about the other side.

Leblanc is an extremely more than fair and fun to play against champion.

All you have to do is wait for the giant warning lights to come up under you and then you right click her and she dies instantly.

I like playing against a Twitch when I have my Duo Partner in bot lane. I play Varus and take exhaust. Twitch then proceeds to try to 1v1 me and loses every time.

In mid, I like playing Veigar against Yasuo (Or Tahm vs. Yasuo) and watch him get too confident before I kill him.

I love laning against Riven. There's a lot to it that feels really satisfying.

You kite back to force her to use her mobility to catch you. With less Broken Wings casts actually hitting you, she deals less damage.

You can recognize her cooldown windows, and know when to go in to poke or trade.

I've gotten really good at predicting her ability ranges and when most Riven players toss out their W or third Q, and stepping just out of range to avoid it feels really good.

Flash juking her R is an amazing feeling.

Add that I'm playing Renekton, and it feels like gold.

Teemo, for all the hate, is actually pretty fun to play against. This is because of two reasons. First, when you manage to win against Teemo it feels more satisfying than winning against other champions because of how Teemo plays an elusive game. You finally caught him! Second, for those summoners who've actually stopped to learn Teemo, he actually has quite a bit of counterplay. Sure you aren't going to rely off infinity combos like Zed or Yasuo, but the placement minigame (both Teemo and his mushrooms) can be equally fun to play against as to play with. I still remember fondly a game where I beat a fed Teemo as an underfed Kog'Maw simply because I outplayed him.

Rammus. While Rammus's kit is older and he can be overpowered against the uninitiated, his abilities don't let him burst gank like some other junglers. For example, a good Hecarim, Shaco, or Yi (at bronze levels) can dive in and take a kill even if you are playing relatively safely and eyeing the jungle. But Rammus waits for that moment you go in too far, meaning that when a Rammus kills you, it's your fault. I'm always happy when playing against a Rammus because I feel like warding the jungle actually means something.

Jinx. Same logic as Rammus. If she wins it's because her summoner was better than you. If you win, it's because you were better than her summoner. Other lanes feeding and etc. aside, Jinx feels fair to play against (so long as someone else didn't feed her), and her interactions force both of you to think. Besides, she's quirky.

Ekko. While he's able to pull off crazy combos like half the tryhard champions, you can actually respond to his combos. And he forces both players to think about placement (like Teemo).

Poppy. Poppy, like Teemo and Ekko, forces both players to think about where they're standing. She's also adorable so you feel slightly less bad losing to her than a prima dona Katarina.

So to summarize, champions who overwhelm you with little chance to respond (Yasuo, Zed, Katarina~ish, Tryndamere, Darius, etc.) are unfun. Almost all other champions are by default neither fun nor unfun to play against, with the exceptions of a few champions. Those few champions all not only have counterplay, but they feel even (meaning you can win by just by being better at your champion, rather than relying solely or mostly on counterplay), and reward an eye for placement on some level.

After writing this I just realized why Yasuo mains like playing him so much. He can't be overwhelmed by other champions, he has counterplay to almost everything, you can win with him by simply being good enough with him regardless of what the enemy team does, and he requires placement (I once had a Yasuo main say that he takes a lot of self control because you don't want to dive too early).

However, given how fun champions are a two way street, Yasuo is decidedly unfun to play against because the enemy doesn't get the same ability to counterplay and utilize placement that he does. It's slightly easier to understand Yasuo mains when you consider that playing him means that you never have to play against unfun champions again. Not the right solution, but slightly more understandable from that perspective.

Most mages are fun to play against for me. Ahri is fun, Syndra is fun, Veigar is fun and a free win, Viktor is fun.

I have the most fun playing against an Ahri though. She can outplay you but there's nothing more satisfying than dodging her E and then see her miss her Q as well while you follow up with a Cassiopeia Q + E spam.

Funnily enough I hate laning against my mains because one mistake leads to my Flash and second SS being used or me getting killed

It's mostly conditional for me - I particularly like assassin fights (Talon vs. Ekko always feels impressive), but I'm also fond of fighting most duelists (Like Fiora). One Champion I can definitely single out as being extremely fun to play against is the Kindred - The Mark of the Kindred makes for a really fun game for both players: The Kindred can bait and be baited by their own need to gain passive stacks.

I generally like Fighter matchups. Like any mix of Irelia, Jax, Riven, Fiora, Camille etc. I usually play 1v1 with my friends and we go Irelia vs Fiora, Jax vs Riven etc. They are all fun matchups and every time I see a Riven top, I pick Irelia into her, so that we can have a fun lane.

I also like bruisers into the mix. Darius, Olaf, Pantheon etc mixed with the fighters. Also enjoy mages, like Viktor vs Orianna, Azir etc
